Not for doing badly. Not for even losing the game. I went 21/0/17, and was harassed because I was playing Mordekaiser bot lane. "Yeah, but we need to push towers faster, you scrub." For playing the way Riot wants him played.

i've had the opposite effect
i can't get a single queue in team builder unless I go bot and if I say "mid/top mord pref" (because i have to since I'm expected to go bot) I'm either told by the rest of the lobby "he's bot lane now," I get flamed, or they ban him to spite me
i hate the people who play this game
I was just in a ranked game where I was second-last pick. Jungle and ADC were open, I wanted to jungle, but last-pick said they didn't want to play ADC. So I decide to help out the team by going bot, and took Mordekaiser.
My Thresh support decides I must be trolling so he takes heal and starts building AD, takes most of the minions, flames me for taking "his" last-hits, then leaves me alone in a 1v2 lane after level 3 or so. He goes roaming, but leaves me with a Relic Shield and a W skill that I can't use.
I try my best, but can't do very much in this situation. Still get a few kills and don't die more than the others on my team. We lose, of course, and both the support and jungle want to report me for trolling.
Amusingly enough, the enemy team were saying in /all that we probably would have won if Thresh hadn't left me alone for the entire game.
So, yeah, that was fun. I think I should wait a few weeks before trying that again.
It's just best to mute everyone at the start of the game and get reported for refusing to communicate than to listen to all the toxic whiners.
This is one of the unfortunate effects of their changes to Morde. Morde only has one good lane now, and it's a lane most solo queuers want a standard ADC. So basically now you have to deal with:
Until they make W usable in a solo lane so that you can take him somewhere other than bot this will not improve. Unless he is used by pros in bot lane in the future. Then the herd will accept it. That said, Morde really should have more than one viable option as to where he can go.
Seems 90% of players don't read patch notes....
I'm perfectly fine with Morde Bot if I get to Varus Mid.
