This doesn't feel like ARAM anymore: Bilgewater update...

ARAM is supposed to be any of the characters currently in play/owned having a chance to appear, this new banning system just lowers if not completely wipes out certain characters from being used altogether. This mechanic should ideally be implemented as a separate option: draft or a secondary category under the umbrella of ARAM.

If a team had a better comp, even without rerolls, then thats the way the cookie crumbled and this was fair as everything is on the table. However, with the bilgewater update, getting certain characters becomes 10x harder since there's 8 possibilities (typically 3+ characters per round for me) to be automatically not in rotation based on dislike or "strategy."

(Slightly exaggerating...maybe) 70% of the matches now end up with me debating: 1. Do I want to spend 15-20 minutes for the nth round playing a character I don't like? And most likely be a handicap to the team cause I'm not a pro with many toons? 2) Do I take a fifteen minute penalty? Cause many times someone else also chimes in saying they can't trade and have no rerolls either. (I personally don't wanna sit through a 20 min.+ slaughter with teammates who won't forfeit even at 50 v 15 = waste of time)

I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way or maybe there is some silver lining I'm just not noticing or a reason why this ban feature was added when it seems contradictory to the concept. Hoping for some insight. Thanks

So you hate it because you arent good enough to play champs that arent on the top 10 ban list? That's what I'm getting out of this. Games should just be decided based on how many people only buy the top 10 aram champs?

First you want an all random Aram then you rant about you have to play random champions. It is a contradiction buddy.

Actually. Its more random now. See the champions picked are by own rate. When you ban champs a lot of people have (and they're the op one 2 most of the times) you get more champions that you never see because the system needs to give new ones. It was proven by riot mort on a tweet about urf.

The ban system aint but, but the ''balance'' of the champions is so fucking fail. Every overtuned champion are destroying everything on the map

Perhaps expand your playstyle to learn and try new champions? Many people aren't going to really judge you for not really knowing how to play a champ you aren't familiar (they usually side eye your build, if anything or if you keep going HAM 1 v 5).

ARAM was never competitive, but because of all those ARAM only accounts that abused the system of pulling a champ only from their owned pool, it created an imbalance in winrate and what not.

You shouldn't expect to always get your way in the game. That is called entitlement. Especially for a game mode that is randomized in nature to begin with.

If you need to blame someone, curse those players who ruined the system to begin with.

The bans are simply correcting the imbalance and forcing those ARAM only accounts to either adapt or choose another game mode.
