What is with matchmaking? Ranked Broken?

Been playing ranked, why is it almost ever game I play now, it's either feast or famine? Literally, there hasn't been a close game in about 15 matches. One team absolutely destroys the other.

Is matchmaking broken at the moment Riot?

It's been broken for a while. Whatever engineer(s) responsible for the ML algo doing MMR and matchmaking needs to go back to school.

It's not really an issue that can be fixed by "school," as you suggest. They just need to reconsider what actions are valuable. Ward placements, for instance, could be considered, as could Dragon/Baron fights, any trades you make to take advantage of bad situations-- anything that can be quantified. The more factors they consider, the more accurate it is likely to be.

As disappointing as it may be, it likely won't happen unless something drastic (like a large drop in interest) happens. I've been asking... BEGGING.. for something to be done for years. There's not enough demand for this, the large majority of the player-base either don't play ranked or just don't care. I've even suggested that a large number of the interested players would rather pay for a better/more-accurate matchmaking system, that can more correctly determine a player's skill, than pay for another skin.

One thing i have noticed while playing ranked is that winning and losing come in waves. Ill play 5 or 6 games and have an amazing team that knows how to communicate and that play smart. Then right after that i get 5 or 6 where we just get destroyed by people in much higher ranks then me. I played against diamond and gold players while we are all bronze two silver 5 range. How does that work?????

BUMP. I am quitting for a year and will check back here then. if nothing has changed, i will uninstall. (too bad riot. My 6 core primo computer and mega internet connection are done with you. no more leaving LOL up and running just to support the game.) I don't know if you are lazy, greedy or stupid there, but goodbye forever if you don't fix it by March 2017. bye.
