About ironic situation in URF

I have played LOL over 5 yrs. I love this game, and new updates too. However, I really want to talk about the ironic situation in the current URF mode.

All Random Ultra Rapid Fire has similar champion selection method with ARAM. So people get randomly chosen champions. Ok, I like that. That way would provoke people to play unplayed champions and get skills on them.

However, this is not ARAM. This is URF mode. We can spam our spells without caring about mana and cool down. So, the thing happens in here is some characters with dash skills(Lucian, Graves) or flash skills(Ezreal) or bouncing skills(Caitlyn, Quin) can spam those skills. It sounds good? NO! It sounds too bad for melee champions. Even though they had lot of armors and Magic Resist, what they just do is following ranged champions and being kited and die. This URF mode is made for "testing skills", but users who picked melee champions randomly by its system got juked and couldn't test their skills at least about 20 mins.

Moreover, targeting skills (malphite Q or Nasus Q) is also problems in this mode. Targeting skills don't require us "Actual Skills", what we have to do is press the skill button and left click the champions. I have played LOL and I could see that the skillful gamers were evaluated by their accuracy in non-targeting skills. I thought this URF mode would be a good mode to practice using non-targeting skills and TEST the combos, but the reality is different. Users just juke targeting skills to get kills.

I posted this message because I love this game, and I wanted LOL to be more balanced to both amateurs and pros. If my English is bad, sorry about that. I am Korean. I want Riot staffs think about balancing the URF mode more competitively.

I wouldn't say URF was made for testing your skills. Its more of just, "Here's some CDR, go have fun."

Thanks for replying to my post.

Nice point. I also agree that this mode is for spamming and having fun but "Having fun" thing should be included to all players, not some people who got "OP" champions by so-called "Randomly Chosen Pick".

The purpose of URF mode was basically "making players as playmakers" like professional teams do. This means that players don't have to worry about mis-skillshots or wrong focusing. So, many players in URF mode test their skills in using champions. That is why I mentioned "testing your skills".

Moreover, what I wanted from Riot is balance patch for URF. (ex. banning champions, erasing specific champions from URF mode like Kassadin and Ryze done in 2014 and 2015).

The purpose of urf mode was an april fools prank, that the community loved. There was really nothing more or less to it than that.

this plus it's on howling abyss, so the advantages and disadvantages of that will pass over to arurf. the randomness goes for both teams, some items are different, ~~melees will have a harder time and be team (comp) dependent, ~~again that goes for both teams, some champs with abilities in a long line (e.g. lux, jhin) or big circle (nasus, gp) will be stronger here, on both sides, and you can always reroll and/or dodge if you dont like the champ or team comp. the rate of rolls aquirement has been increased for the duration of arurf btw

what made u think that this mode was for testing skills? all game modes are for fun.

and the examples that you gave, of abilities and shots, will end up countering eachother. champ x misses a stun but it's on low cd and will fire it again right away? a dash from champ y will also be on a low cd to avoid the 2nd stun, as well.

i guarantee you tho that spamming all keys in all directions will only get you so far, and only on certain champs.

edit: so sorry, i talked before playing it, and it's not on HA, so melee shudnt have a harder time, and other champs shud shine here, not aram champs ^^

I agree that all game modes are for fun. I also think that all game modes in League have another thing than fun. We see, infinite mana and low cd on every skill and summoner spells. That can let us do use skills without any worries, bcuz the chance comes back fast. This means that we can do mistake in skillshots and using summoner spells in URF mode. From there, we practice champions' combo that should be faster than enemies' reaction (like Ahri ERaQaWa or Zed RWaQaE). That is why Riot mentioned "Players can be playmakers". Players don't have to worry about misclicked combos and don't have to wait over 2 mins while beating by enemies' combos.

You mentioned that there are options for rerolls and dodge. Reroll is good system. I admit that. Because of it we could at least make good team combinations. However, there are two chances to roll the dice at maximum. There are over 100 champions in League and give each users only 2 chances to change champions? This is ridiculous. Moreover, dodging makes both rest of team members and who dodged feel bad. Even the gamemode is URF or Co-OP or ARAM, we get leaverbuster warning and we can get low priority queue too. Rest of team members couldn't play the game because someone dodged. They have to search for the new game, and select new champions.
"If you don't want to play this URF match which is "for FUN", then dodge and become a sacrifice of leaverbuster punishment" You think this is really ideal game for fun?

About the fact that "countering each other", that happened quite a little. This is not normal URF. This is All Random URF. This means that all champion picks can be random. There is a possibility that blue team is whole AP and Red team is whole AD, for instance. These possibilities can be changed by players' reroll too. We cannot be sure about all champion picks should be like Rock-Paper-Scissors. There were lots of one-sided games in ARAM too. However, ARAM was different because healing and buying item was restricted. You had to buy item after you died, and healing could be done by only potions, healing spot, summoner spells, and champion skills. There was no "sweet sweet home" in ARAM. However, URF has. Whenever we get low hp, we can go back and heal at maximum and buy items. This gives enemies hard time to "Counter and Kill" us.

What I wanted to say is this urf game should be more balanced to every champions. For example, nerfing targeting CC effects or making items which have "cleansing" ability especially in this mode.

URF is not meant to be balanced. it's meant as a big "what if" machine to see how crazy things can get. and through that allows riot foresight to develop new and exciting cancers.
