Master Yi doing 43% of his Champion damage as true damage

MasterYi using conqueror in the jungle. As you can see by the chart his true damage is about half (0.42927%) of his entire damage dealt to champions. Of course he had a good early game, even though I (malphite) tried to halt him a bit. This does not matter as you cant itemize against true damage. I figured in this game the only way was to reduce his attack speed so much he cant hit us, did not work since he still shred through my 408 armor like it was a minion. Now, how did MasterYi make this work? Well by analyzing his build ---> item 1419 item 3111 item 3748 item 3124 item 3053 <--- We can clearly see how he avoided my attack speed reduction ( item 3110 item 3143 Maplhite E /slow is 50%/). He used the combination of his passive which allows him to attack twice, as well as guinsoo´s passive which makes every other basic attack proc on hit effects twice and Titanic hydra which you can use the active for a double attack. I think anyone would say this guy is smart, he made a build that does over 40% of it's damage as true but it is also something us as a community hates, an immovable object. There is no way to stop a master yi flying at you with this build. The tanks cant hold him in place for cc to land and even if you do a point and click, he can dodge it. Which comes to what ties this true damage on hit with some pretty tanky stats build togheter, Alpha Strike. This ability allows him to neglect cc and keep attacking. I know a lot of people like crazy stuff like this, but when you cant build against him, counter pick or even cc him, it gets annoying and (im sorry for using this word, this is only plat elo i know) Broken.

Yi is not a strong champ. Why you whining? His E makes him do more true damage. Suprise!!!! Yi shreds armor.

Dear OP,

Mr Yi avoided attack speed reductions by pressing R.

don't see any issue if champ is still garbage with 40% true damage

You should focus on Conqueror, not Yi.

Without something like that, including smiting enemy champs and red buff and E all together, abut 10% of his damage iirc is true damage.

I thank god every game I see a yi on the enemy team because I can just take some hard CC, hold on to it in a teamfight, and then win by using it when he comes in.

I love how on the poll most believe its oke. And to you guys, how is it oke? As the op said "but when you cant build against him, counter pick or even cc him". Now whether his main source of damage is through his kit or a keystone is irrelevant. Objectively speaking 40% of their entire damage as true is not healthy. Unless he has no mobility whatsoever.

Attack speed slows counter attackspeed bonuses, not the other way around.

However, and this is very important to note, Master Yi's ultimate makes him immune to attack speed slows as well as movement speed slows.

Your best bet against him as Malphite is to force teamfights and land a solid ult after he Qs. If your team has their shit together, they should be able to burst him out. If they don't you should probably just stack AP and try to one-shot him.
