My issue with Hextech Crafting

As a new, and inexperienced player, I have never seen myself or one of my premades get an S rank. I can understand being rewarded for doing well, but S rank is impossible for us. Yes, we could play a lot, practice, and grind, but I've never played this game for that aspect. I find it's less fair to casual players that enjoy playing ARAM, and those that go into normals to have fun, not necessarily to win. I do intend to slowly improve, but I find it unlikely I'll get an S anytime soon.

I hate to complain about something being given to us for free, and I did appreciate the initial chest, but after playing three straight pvp games as soon as Hextech came out, the highest I saw was a B for my premade, and that was in a game where they had a great game by our standards. I guess a lot of people could just say get better, or who cares about the bronzies, but who are the people that need champions more than the new players that struggle to earn enough IP for runes, rune pages, and their initial champion pool?

This might not be the best worded post, and I understand that it's inherently complaining about a system granted for free, but coming from other games that have more rewarding versions of this system, I wanted to put my opinion in.

Ideas to make Hextech feel more rewarding and possible for newer players: Earn essence just like we earn IP, though in smaller amounts. Earn chests and keys for winning, or maybe lower the rank necessary. A rank would be a lot more feasible. I'm not sure on this entirely, but considering it's tough to get value out of this system, I'd like to see a lower requirement to earn chests. Be able to spend IP/essence on chests (the latter if my first idea seemed a good idea)

I'm sure there are other ideas, likely even better, but the Hextech crafting system took my premade from playing a lot of non Summoner's Rift to instantly playing SR, and then quickly back out, as we were disappointed with how difficult it was to get an S rank as newer, less skilled players.
