Nexus Siege IP farm?

I've been a filthy casual at LoL for the past year or so (was really into it at one time). After playing the new game mode I noticed that even not with my 1st win of the day I was getting a metric butt tonne of IP for wins, is this intentional or will it be removed? This is just a observation on my end, anyone else see this?
