A Support Player Asking For Assistance

Hello everyone i'm hear today just asking for some tips, advice, and all around pointers for the support role. I've been playing this game for a long time and just recently picked up the support role (was always an Ad or Mid main). Support is by far my most loved role so far and I've gotten the best results while playing it. But I can not seem to carry as support as many of my friends say that you can. yes i can average 20 assists per game and roam to every lane, but i can not seem to turn that into a win. I peel for anyone that needs it (mostly the AD because of positioning) but sometimes that leads into a loss. I am not trying to make it sound like i think i am perfect at the role by any means. If anything i'm far from it only at silver 4 right now sadly. What i'm asking for is tips and tricks from gold and up support mains or players that main other roles that know what is needed to be a very impactful support that could really assist me and any other support players out there looking to improve their play. Any help would be appreciated
