Take it from a Mordekaiser Main

I have noticed everybody saying that Mordekaiser is "broken," and does not belong in the League of Legends. Personally, I have noticed some problems with him that would easily "fix" him, yet not everyone agrees with my train of thought. I would like to have some feedback on my opinions of how Mordekaiser could be fixed, and also why he should be left the same.

COMPLAINTS The main complaint I have received when playing Mordekaiser almost always pertains to Rylai's Crystal Scepter. Every single one of Mordekaiser's abilities is impacted by it's passive. Before he received his succession of "nerfs" at the start of season 6, I had a completey different build set and play style for this champion. Back then: his ult did more damage up front but less over time, his scaling was better, and his health regained from his ult's damage seemed to be a lot less; however, the "nerfs" that have been tacked on to his play style have only made him easier to play. I can now out farm most champions in the laning phase and overpower them if I simply draw them in close enough. I have been able to survive a 1 vs 3 with less than 150 health because of Rylai's. I simply group the enemy, use my e to collect as much of my passive as i can, use my w on a minnion, ult the champion with the least remaining health, and charge. When I am low on health I close my w and regain health. When the ulted champion dies, i gain health and damage in astronomical ratio's that will help me kill the other two.

Another complaint is his passive ability. This is basically healing with a small cost. You gain a shield based on the damage u deal through your abilities. The ratios between the moves are different, but the amounts on them are ridiculous. Even I have to agree that this is way too much. Your e is the main shielding source as it gives u about 25% of your maximum shield per champion (cut for minions) at level 5 (Your maximum shield being a percentage of your maximum health). Being able to refill this during the middle of a fight for virtually no cost is not the fairest of tactics for the enemy, but this helps even out unfair fights.

The last two complaints I have noticed are "THAT HEAL" and "THAT DAMAGE." Whenever I decide to take the healing summoner spell, I like to close my w on a champion and use this heal at the same time when I have next to no health. The enemy summoner usually complains about this action whether it be early or late game because this can heal 300-400 health early and even more late game. This can early turn the tides of a fight in the laning phase because cooldowns for most moves are still decently long and most are expended by the time I use it. Also you get to play with a portion of your passive too. On the other hand, when I bring ignite into a battle, I can easily kill somebody with half health by simply ulting and igniting said champion. This almost always kill somebody that has not built against me. If I capture the soul I can take their tower with ease and still stay in lane without a problem. When a champion dives me mid game while I am clearing a wave of minions, I manage to usually hit them with my q's third strike first. If they can get away by dashing over walls or such they usually start to freak out about the damage i dealt to them, with one hit, and call me a hacker or cheater when they have 1500 health and no magic resist.

FIXES Scaling: Just cut back on the scaling of his moves. Tanks are not supposed to deal THAT much damage. I mean your q's ratios for all three hits are just ridiculous. The w's healing does not seem like it would make that much of a difference in a fight, but if you max it first and have my build (item 3116 item 3152 ) you can heal 300 easily if not more in lane. Then their is your ultimate. You deal a percentage of a champion's max health over time. Even though potions and regeneration negate most of this damage, 35% of 6000 health is still 2100. This EATS tanks late game.

Passive: Just Don't touch this. This makes him unique.

Ultimate: Your enslaved enemy champions hold all of their current traits whether it be their passive or their items. if Jax builds Rageblade, his enslaved individual will be impacted by this and his passive itself. If they have lifesteal, this works on them, On-hit items work on them such as item 3087 item 3074 item 3748 Blitzkrank's ultimate's passive works with his ghost. ONE PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND with Mordekaiser's ultimate is Jhin's four shot passive. (He does not expend shots in this form) I was able to catch a Jhin on his final shot (deals bonus damage and crit strikes) Because he was not able to cycle through the shots, he had an outrageously high damage output.

DO NOT CHANGE I have found Mordekaiser to be just as a "broken" champion as most others. People always complain about how he deals too much damage and is impossible to kill. There is just one problem though. These people only say this about champions who are not played as much. They are just harder to understand because no one has something to base themselves off of. How many Yorick mains are there compared to Yasuo mains? Basically none is the correct answer. I can almost guarantee you that if there was some flashy Mordekaiser main out in the world, people would play and understand him instead of tossing him in the corner. When an item build is introduced into the NA LCS, for example, people start to use it more. When Lucian's build surfaced to "Cut down the tree" (item 3071 item 3142 ) People started to build it without question. All Mordekaiser is is a simple champion with a complex kit, but the kit is locked together nicely. All he needs now is fame.

If you agree or disagree with any of my points, accusations, etc. please give me your views on this and relating subjects.

I played morde from season 3 to season 5, before they changed him. He is pretty much exactly the same. He does exactly what he used to.

At the start of this season (6) he received a series of minor changes is all.

In season 5 he had a "big" rework that was supposedly a failure and he is now again on the rework list. I do get what you mean though.
