Ok so my main got banned and I've started playing on my smurf. I've accomplished a pretty good winrate of 76% but when i got to higher elo I started earning +13 and losing -20 for some reason. This makes climbing stupidly hard. Can someone please expalin how this works?

LitAF1 votesMost likely your MMR was a lot lower than your current rank so your wins gave less LP and your losses took more LP

but seriously this occurs when your MMR is higher than those around you and you play with players beneath you. in particular you are diamond 2, and the bulk of the players who you play with are diamond 3. this means you need > 50% win rate to climb, which is understandable because you're at the top of the curve where you're competing for hair like gains.
