How the fuck does the Mastery ranking system work
i played a game where i went 14-5-7 as zed and i got 190 cs but i got an A yet the jinx on our team who was afk half the game and went 1-1-2 with 120 cs got an S like wtf is this shit

Unless that jinx was like jungle or something, that seems unlikely.
In any case, the grades depend on how you performed on your champion in your role compared to all other player's performances on that particular champion in that particular role. What percentile you're in determines your grade, as simple as that. If everyone on a champo/role combo does completely awful, then even 'bad' performances in absolute terms can get good grades.
the system is not great. you have to understand its calculated by computers so a lot of stuff gets ignored and a lot that doesn't matter really gets included. so yeah if you really really carry you likely to get s or s+ but if you do well but so does the rest of your team its a chance at best
