why do you have to lock in champ in ranked?
stupid because if you pick your champ at the last second you dont have time to lock in, then you get kicked for not locking in even though you picked your champ and you lose lp.

Actually, I'm quite sure that you can still pick a champion even after Pick Intent was over, so the time you have in selecting one was more than enough.
