So I was able to get to Gold Last season on 2 accounts. This season I didn't do well in placements and was put in Silver 3, but I figured it'd be fine I'd just climb, only to get demoted to Silver 4. Why is it suddenly so hard? Every one of my teams seems to be calling gg 3 minutes or trolling each other.
Is there something about the early season that I am missing?

the beggining of the season is basically bronze/silver/golds hiding in normals untill plats+ get back into their proper ranking.

PhantomGG1 votesive gotten a few plats mixed into my games, its quite annoying, especially when the plats on my team suck and the plats on the enemy team don't, for now its up to me, mr gold five, to maybe face off against four/three plats while my plats are just salty as fuck
Troiann1 votesThis isn't true, plat players are playing against previous season plats, maybe high golds.
While the rank may be close the MMR actually has a pretty high discrepancy, which means plats won't get matched with golds barring some weird shit going down.
ofart1 votesIf I were you, I'd wait for pure Solo Que to be introduced. I don't want to play with a bunch of toxic premades or against premades. I also don't think rankings where queing an be Solo-5 man can ever be meaningful. Many of the player groups (for example, 5 man and solo) won't even interact and yet they will be rated on the same Dynamic Que ladder. It isn't a consistent equal environment between players so I consider it about as reliable as normals.

Stand Alone Wolf1 votesI'm sure Riot said that if you get into a solo ranked match where there's four guys queued together, & you are the one guy/gal on their team, then you're likely to go against another team with those same odds just as much as you would be if you had a team of solo's, & went against another team. I'm only going off vague memory, so don't beat me over the head with this. I didn't quote anything exactly, but I think this was said.
ofart1 votesRight, but that doesn't change how little validity rankings have in Dynamic Que. You will be facing a similar configuration most times but another person with an entirely different configuration will also be ranked on the same ladder despite it being quite different skillsets. A guy playing only solo and a guy playing only 5-mans will both be ranked on the same Dynamic Que ladder and that makes the whole system a joke in terms of comparing players' skills (which is supposed to be the point of using a ranked system).

Stand Alone Wolf1 votesWait a good two months, & you'll be fine. It's a nasty storm of upset diamonds, plats, & trolls ready to ruin their matches, & what-not. it will clear up after a while. Personally, I was fine withSilver III. Going to shoot for the gold though when I start ranked back up.
RisenDarkKnight1 votesPeople got used to dynamic que so now they don't like not getting one of their top 2 lanes. Also, I think riot placed everyone a division or two lower because of "promo helper" the thing that makes promos really easy the second time around.
