how to fight graves?

i was just in a game of LoL and graves who was 1 level ahead of our tank litteraly one shot him so i want to know how do you prevent this and beat this? i mean for real how do i beat him he has high dps and can usualy kill you unless you have a stun i dont know how to handle this please help.

Ban him in champion select and wait until the next couple patches.

his basic does less the further from him you are, so like a reverse nid spear, also try not to wall hug because his q will auto explode if it hits impassable terrain. Remember that with his new passive he only gets True Grit stacks if he dashes so killing him before he can build up too many dashes is a good idea, on top of all of this THORNMAIL, fastest way to shut him down, mix it with Death's Dance it will cause 12% of all damage to be dealt to you as bleed over time damage. On top of all of this have good CC on your team, stopping him from moving at the least will help keep him from doing full damage, fight with your minion wave in front of you it will block his basic attacks, his Q does more damage with the explosion then it does when it first hits you so side step the boom, lastly his ult now pushes him back so if he either misses you or doesn't kill you with it act accordingly with your retreat or continued attack. For one you should stay as far away from his shots as you can. Getting buckshot in the head will kill you like it did katarina. Make sure you never stand in the powder of his Q, it's ok to get hit by the bullet but it's the fire that hurts like a bitch and woe betides anyone that got hit by both. W is the same but watch out for his E, as he gains armor and closes in on you. His ult has made him a little more slippy as he backs away then it's shot.

TL;DR: Dodge Q, attack during reload, Watch out for E and Ult now pushes him back a bit. And for god's sake don't be close to him as he will OHK you.

I just played against A Graves top lane as Rammus and I managed to play safe against him. So anytime I was trading him I was popping my W and rushed Thornmail to counter him. having a lot of armor and health will help a lot and you should watch out for when True Grit is up as he is as tough as rammus in that state. More or less you really need to focus him and make sure he doesn't screw you out. he doesn't have a proper escape apart from E.
