Talon and his Kit

Hi. I'm a Talon main that is maining him at the current moment. I'd love to ask you a couple of questions about his nerf on his E and his Passive at the current moment * I will emphasize greatly on these two * . I think the nerf on his E was very reasonable because he was terribly unbalanced. I had stopped playing Talon until a few days ago I found out he isn't alot weaker since but I have encountered some big problems since. I would like to suggest to rework his passive since he's not actually utilizing it correctly and the usual combo is E > AA > Q > W > AA > R > walk away > R. I feel his passive does not belong to his kit and is very weak. If you are not planning for that though, I may suggest another recommendation. His E to stack up to 2 times and have a cooldown of 20 seconds at ALL levels. In order to keep him balanced, you can make his E have a 85% slow and last 0.5 secs, with a cooldown on each champion used your E at look at Yasuo E 7/6/5 seconds.

Please take my recommendations under serious consideration, as I put alot of thought into them.

Talon won't see any real buffs until his pattern of "100-0 some poor sucker with almost no counterplay while also accidentally dealing high AoE damage to that sucker's whole team" issue is resolved.

It's both his big strength and also the biggest thing holding him back from getting some love.

there is plenty of counterplay, stop being a dumbass.

Buy a 720 gold armor item and talon cannot 100-0 anyone anymore. Or better yet shut him down in lane... hes a melee champion

To quote patch 4.17:

The overarching narrative for this patch is to reduce stagnation in the live environment by targeting highly banned champions and (finally) looking at those champs who make for a low-counterplay game (looking at you Talon).

So yeah. He is considered a low-counterplay champion. It's not that there aren't options to him (buy some armor or shut him down), but that those are your ONLY options. If he has the damage to kill you you are simply dead, with pretty much no recourse once his combo has started.

If you disagree that's fine, but just know that Riot...you know, the company that would be implementing any changes to him...agrees with me on this one.

Sure he was low counterplay when he had a silence. If u think hes low counterplay WITHOUT it, u are probably just bad. Dashes blinks, flash, zhonyas, cc etc.

riot was talking about post nerf talon when they said "low counterplay"

You make a good point. His Passive is completely useless now.

If you E to an enemy the 0.25 second slow is already gone before you have a chance to autoattack. This means that unless you stand there auto attacking after u use W, talon effectively doesn't have a passive.

Unless the opponent has Merc Threads or another source of Tenacity, the E 0.25 second slow IS enough for you to land an auto attack after using Cutthroat. You need good reflex, you need to land this auto attack even before clicking on the map to move again. My combo is usually:

E>AA>W>AA>Q>AA>walk away or R to kill.

If you do it correctly, this combo takes advantage of Talon's passive on every auto attack, and allow you to stick to the target at all time.

sometimes i just have to scratch my head at the things i read sometimes on this site. If your attackspeed is less than 2.5 attacks per second why would u expect to be able to auto attack within a .25 second window? please think mate.

Nevertheless your combo is interesting, ill try it. I usually try to fit all of my spells within the 3 second dmg amplification window.

Try it my friend: Use E and click for an auto attack the quickest possible. No matter how much attack speed you have, it is possible to land 1 auto attack during the 0.25 second slow window. :)

I would LOVE to see significant reduction on E's cool down ONLY during champion kill/assist such as Katrina, no other skills or it will be back to the nerf-board for Talon. If you simply reduce his cool down too much it can give him the ability to Q>E harass>E back to a minion before being killed which i'm sure we will all agree that is some seriously OP harassment....

I would also like to see E have the ability to be used on teammates, maybe even giving teammates a small boost of speed or even granting your teammate a 2 second window to bleed an enemy? Just on-the-spot suggestions

Or... how about giving his passive a 20% increase in damage when slowed, stunned, immobilized or suppressed by another champion other than Talon??? Lee Sin + Talon fights FTW

I don't see Talon's passive as "useless". Talon hits hard without it and knowing how to utilize his passive only helps you inflict more damage.

I'd like to add that if you have Lee Sin (there are obviously more champs than just Lee) as your jungler, his cripple is a great combination with talon's passive. I think the issue is people are thinking of Talon's passive in only 1v1 scenarios when this is a team oriented game. Notice his passive mentions much more than just slowed. Just my personal opinion on a different way to think of his play style.

Talon is important and different to know when, where and how to attack during various situations. But I disagree with his passive being "useless". I actually think that passive can fit in most champions' kits....
