Ryze rework

Hey, since our local forums are usually ignored by rito, i wanted to ask this here:

What exactly is the reason behind ryze rework? I understand that on competitive level he doesnt make sense but anywhere below that he creates a really nice metagame. Since we know that zillion champions are out of the competitive meta we know thats not the reason. Ryze being free elo on lower tiers cant be either, cos "oh hai fiora or katarina". Ryze at the moment is part mage, part tank, part adc (limited range sustained dps), he is ranged but so short that he is basicly a "ranged-meele". To sum it up Ryze is a "tank-adc-meele-mage". He is unique as he is, and they want to rework him to "just-another-mage". Ryze has a zillion counters and he counters a zillion things, he makes pick and ban phase more interesting.

Not to mention that based on my experience ryze laning is very versatile on top lane, and has different aspects as you climb the brackets. I played against people from silver to challenger and had to use different tactics and countermeasures as climbing the skill tier. (flash-execute is op, we consider that before going allin, ok?). My point being: a lane phase can be interesting without skillshots too, a fight depending on missing or hitting a skillshot is not really superiour meta-gaming wise. It even brings in the luck factor. (in before the qq about me probably being bad on skillshots, almost anything else i main is heavily skillshot dependant ap champ).

You might aswell rework Annie too, cos outside of the laning phase she is even more straightforward on playstyle, your stun is always up unless you are on the potato bracket, annie passive has nothing to do with "skill" once you are out of the earlygame.

What i am really afraid of, considering the recent new champions and reworks, they probably make some inferior garbage out of my favorite champion, thinking that a mostly irrelevant spell like bard tunnel will make it qualified for flashy lcs plays and its fine. ( I mean seriously, Bard or the new zilean on lane is laughable). If they make that to ryze too...... i will cut my wrists.....ok, maybe i just main something else.....:D

So whats your opinion about the rework?
