Support Items
The new Support items don't achieve their stated goals: to improve QoL and severely limit passive play.
<< crying
First, let's start out with a bug that I've reported a couple of times. You can't add the Support items to a designated number slot in your saved item sets, nor can you look up the mission items within the client to see their tree or stats.

- Aggressive play gets you more AP/AD than other gold item counterparts. It does solve the stated goal regarding passive play.
- QoL is debatable. It used to be the reason to take this would be more mana regen, and the different options it opened up in later play. Neither exist anymore.
- This item does become more helpful in midgame than its execute minions counterparts. When you're no longer able to help with the farm because it gets destroyed too quickly, skirmishing and taking tower plates help you farm.
- Suggestion: make the turret procs also work against inhibs.

- Being able to execute minions is huge! QoL wins for this. Not so much for passive play. Among the many things great about this, you don't have to remind the carry that you're not stealing their farm.
- Another drawback against passive play ... if the Support can execute the cannon, the amount of posturing, and the likelihood of taking a trade over the siege is waaay smaller, reducing overall lane aggression.
- In the last couple of days it's buggy, though. Minions won't always be executed, making me back off on tapping them even though I have charges. I can't tell if it's only at the second stage of the item mission or if that's just when I notice.
- QoL takes a nosedive if you're finding yourself holding lane waiting for your team a lot.
Both paths take away choices we used to have for endgame items. Taking away choices isn't always a bad thing. I see Supports warding more now than they would have. I see people spending way less time in the shop; I know I do. But, I used to be more successful choosing Support items over upgrading right away. Now, getting my first item feels belaboured and I feel less effective for longer.
I'm sure I'm rehashing a topic that's been done many times, so I'm sorry if that's the case. Feel free to merge this into another thread, if that's possible.
I have more to say for each, but I wanted to keep it relatively short to my biggest talking points.
