The truth about tanks

Hi guys. I was wondering what You were thinking about the tank meta. Is this a real thing? I'm bronze/silver, my friend is always like ''omg they have 3 tanks we have 1 we lose'';. I think its retarded but i was wondering what You were thinking about this. I always feel like if our top isnt tanky enough we're gonna lose that lane, even thought when you think about it, Kayle or Poppy might be a good choice. Now with the new items, do You think mages and adc will melt them and the meta will change?

The meta isn't any better for tanks now that it has been in the past.

Fighters, Assassins, and Marksman all have better joint damage and defensive itemization options ATM though, making most champions in the game a little tankier as a result.

Not sure I'd call it a tank meta what with how dominant Marksman are ATM though.

Having a well-rounded team composition does help a lot. 2 Fighters, 1 dedicated solo-lane tank, or a tanky support with another tanky memeber is usually necessary to create a solid team-fight formation with a good front line/back-line dynamic.

Without a good front-line, approaching an enemy team means a swift death for any member of a team. Which pretty much forfeits games in bronze/silver, especially with randoms, as such teams are going to lack the coordination and teamwork to make split-push, poke+disengage, or assassination pick team-comps reliably work.

5 man ball of death team-fights though? Everyone can do that pretty easily and will usually fall back on that strategy, which heavily favors having a strong front line.
