MMR

I have won 75% out of my last 30 games so you would think that my MMR would be good for climbing. The truth couldn't be much more opposite. When I win a game, I only gain 16 LP and it costs 21 LP when I lose. That seems backwards to me and is actually quite frustrating. If you have any explanation or pointers or whatever, that'd be great. I honestly can't make heads or tail of this $hit so it would be cool if you could.

Your wins were probably against lower MMR teams. Your MMR goes up when you win against higher MMR teams. Not the whole equation but that could be the underlying factor for your case.

MMR is a joke and please, please, please do NOT let it get you down. I consistently have 'below average MMR' (according to OP.GG) but usually perform better than most of my team in regards to role responsibilities in (ranked) games.

Just do your best every time. Ranked itself is fucking stupid and broken and, unfortunately, has very little to do with reflecting actual skill levels sometimes...despite that being its whole purpose.

Best way to explain it is that your rank caught up completely with your MMR. So, for the next bit you'll be raising your MMR instead of getting much points and then after a bit you should go back to better gains and lower losses for LP.

It's basically testing you right now to see if you just got a lucky streak; it's built into the system to slow people down so on the way back down they won't ruin as many games.
