Revert Rumble's E Change

Rumble has one of the lowest play rates in the game and can be very complex, so I don't blame Riot for accidently nerfing him. I feel like they wanted to buff him with the E change, but it actually reduces his effectiveness and I want to fully explain why.

Initially it might look like a buff because he can now has more opportunities to cast his E, but the slow got nerfed and Riot made the second shot cost heat which really fcks him in ways that aren't always immediately clear.

Rumble used to start cooling off after the first E cast because it was the only shot that generated heat. Now that the second cast also generates heat, he has to wait that much longer before casting his other abilties. This effectively increases the cool down of all his other abilities by the length he waits in between E shots because otherwise he will generate too much heat and silence himself. As a result his win rate actually went down.

Trust me... as a Rumble main the E change really messes up his heat management, and the charge system is just one more annoying thing to keep track of while trying to manage your heat. Sure, it might be easier to CS in lane... but it makes fighting actual players much more difficult.

Please revert the E change. The early game buff to his shield was a much better idea. Maybe make his shield scale with health or something like an actual bruiser. God knows he needs it right now... top lane Rumble almost has the worst win rate in the entire game (roughly 43%) according to Champion.gg

Well technically the total heat cost is no different, all of his spells generate 20 heat, his e used to do 20 hear regardless of using the 2nd shot or not, now it's split to 10 heat between the 2 shots, you can also easily manage your heat now cause you can delay your second shot now to keep your heat above 50 for the extra effects

I'm convinced Riot purposely pick employees who don't play the champ at all when they rework their kit.

This. Yes. +1

Though, in the jungle, it's better for him to sustain heat. It's easier.

Holy crap, this. As an avid Rumble player, I hate this change.

To be honest, for me it really made him shine in the jungle with the overall spam of spells, immediate heat, and all the good stuff even if his Q does reduced damage towards minions and monsters.

I haven't been playing Rumble for a long time, but when I started playing him over the weekend it felt really good to be able to use the Electro Harpoon as often as it currently is. It's probably more a feel thing more than a power thing, but it felt really good to be able to CS or poke that often on that short a cooldown.

Honestly this change wouldn't be so bad if it didn't had so many goddamn bugs. The issue you've described with the E is most likely a bug, there's also another very well known bug where if you cast your second E during overheat, heat generated shortly after going out of overheat will still rapidly decay as if you were overheaten (now that's fucked up), while overheaten sometimes you can randomly press E even if you didn't overheat with it, or not be able to cast it at all if you've overheaten with it.

It's pretty clear that this change was put out on live servers way too quickly without much thought put into it. And then, I agree that Rumble deserves better, but then Riot doesn't want to buff him in a meaningful way because "something something MaRiN". Can't wait for another ult cd nerf.

They could make heat start falling of faster after an E charge...
