@Riot Why do damage items get raw % damage reduction but defensive items don't?
It really doesn't make much sense... The only defensive item that gets raw % damage reduction is ninja tabi, and its for autos only.

They stack, and their DR also applies to the hardest scaling type of damage in the game.
Also, armor and mr literally are % damage reduction lol.
100 armor reduces 50% of the physical damage you take.
Anyway, to answer the spirit of your question: because damage outscales defense late game. The game is better this way. If it were the other way around games would virtually never end.
You don't really know what you're talking about, do you?
Defenses (armor and MR) are already %. The only things that aren't are things like Dorans Shield and the Block mastery.
