The burning question everyone wants an answer to.

So, I have been playing League for several years now. I always get stuck in Gold. Last season mostly due to lack of time to play. This season, I got placed in Silver 4. I am ok with that. It is just the start of the season. But now. I am at 14 wins and over 30 losses. It has never ever been THIS bad, by now I am demoted to S5 with only 27LP left. I am trying everything to figure out why. I am trying to Jungle, anything and everything in the Meta. I am trying top and wreck everyone with the OP Nasus or other meta champions. I am trying Support, to give vision and help my team. I am a really 'good behavior' player who always tries to encourage my team to not give up and try for objectives and stay calm and positive. (seriously, I have never even gotten a warning in my 5 years of playing) Doesn't matter where I go, I cannot seem to help my team get the win. Up till like 20 minutes I have maybe 1-3 deaths max. until a hyperfed laner comes by and starts making havoc everywhere. (you can check my match history) I mostly enjoy playing support, which is also my main role, but I feel like I am completely useless as in 'carrying' on a support. Even so, I am not able to help as a toplaner or jungler either. I base my champ pick on what the team needs. I ward a lot Including vision wards I try to push my team for objectives when they are open for the take I am trying to maximize farming Always keeping a eye on the mini-map for if someone nearby needs help Base my item build on how the game is flowing. I try to always stay positive and encourage my team to do the same. What else can I do? No I am not asking for anyone to help me in a duo or anything, I wanna get better myself, but right now, I am completely stuck as to why it is going this badly. For anyone who has more tips or knowledge, please and thank you.

So immediately I can see that you're playing "op" champions.

This is something I would recommend against. Just because something is "broken" does not mean that you will be good with it. If you have 600 Lulu top games under your melt and know you can win most MU's, but then switch over to Nasus "because muh meta" whom you've played a total of 3 times, all in aram, you are going to get your dick stomped on, twisted off, and fed back to you.

So play what you're comfortable with and adept at, not what's "broken".

Secondly, the ranked system is still being sifted through. It's still early enough in the season that you have all sorts of players below where they 'belong'. Plenty of plat players began this seasin in high silver / low gold and are making their climb back up; you can get matched against these players and get murdered despite their current placement.

Lastly: Silver isn't about team play.

The biggest problem which holds Silver players back is their inability to close out games. You will see teams who are up 15 kills and 4 towers, who could have won the game at 22 minutes, lose the game at 47 minutes because they followed each successful team fight with "let's split up and farm lanes / the jungle", got caught, and allowed their enemy to slowly catch up.

My biggest advice for Silver compounds with my initial statement about "play what you're comfortable as". I would personally pick a champion (imo jungler but in any non-support role) who is simplistic, strong, and most importantly not meta, and play them. Don't play them in ranked; bang out 50-100 games in normals and maximize how to play them, then take them into ranked. Play to end the game rather than to farm, and try to get your team to rally behind you as you do it.

Well, I don't have a dick, so that is one problem solved. Ayway, this is some good advice. I took out my beloved Volibear and Janna, and actually got back into series.

I know about the closing out the game problem all to well. But no matter how much I pig and ask people to push the fck out of an open late or take baron and push them when they are dead. 9/10 I end up trying to do that alone, because they just walk around or farm juggle as you said. I found 2 people to duo with to try and quickly end games when possible, this also really helped in my last few games. Thanks for the advice. ^^

Is this really such a ridiculous question that no one wants to help, or is it because I am silver...?

It is probably because nobody else has the answers. Everything is hectic these days. we just played against an attack speed Braum mid lane and our Taliyah was so tilted that she ulted our adc into the baron pit while the baron was attacking. League of legends is lagging and needs fixed. Past that, idk bro.

Murderdoll1 votes

I heard there are some weird things going on, yes.... Also the lag, I have been battling it for more than a week now. So this is not just me? (have been working with them on a ticket, but no solution can be found as to what the problem is) Also, thank you for replying. I started to feel like a idiot for posting this..

Game is garbage right now btw, snowballing is so bad you win or lose based on who gets few kills early game. But if you still wanna play, first of all stop changing roles so much. If you like support, main and play support. Play "kill the fucking adc supps."Brand Zyra But if you don't like them, you can always play leona and cc lock everyone. But you're gonna need your team a little more on those types of champs.

The snowballing part explains a lot atm. but still.

yea I am not the best on squishy. I main mostly tanks and healers (on support) and tanks, bruisers top. I dunno. I can try.

NekoniClaws1 votes

I'm in the same spot, not touching ranked with my winrate tanking so hard.

Boards always discuiss high elo, 'bla bla twitch broken' -well that's not the problem in low elo. We just have people that can't play safe- who don't know their power. And they dicate so many of our games.

The people who play champs that can exploit this (like Kayn, Warwick, Nasus, Darius...) they get a whole bunch of freelo. They get stacks and keep going back for the free gold. It has the same effect on the game as having an inter. If you're anything like me, you play non-stack champions (I main supports) so you getting kills / gold isn't enough to keep up.

And honestly macro feels super weakened with a snowballed champion running around. You end up having to over-invest against one player. It's like 5 kill leads are now 8 kill leads.

Murderdoll1 votes

I also main Support mostly. I am really trying to play Nasus and Warwick and try to get to snowball myself. I really do not want to put all blame on my team. But as you said, it is somethimes really hard when you ping, warn and see your carries just barge into a bush blind or just don't see the enemy because they don't check the minimap (or pings).

End of season/Start of season feels the worse to me. Start of season because balance is pretty bad and end of season because you get the worst people trying to rank up before the season ends.

Murderdoll1 votes

It does all feel a bit out of balance right now I guess...

Lauchmelder1 votes

In low elo there's literally only one thing you can do to keep up with a fed enemy:

Farm better than anyone else. Their midlane has 4 kills? You better be 80CS ahead of him (if it's actually possible time-wise, otherwise you need near perfect CS)

Murderdoll1 votes

So, get even better at farming..? noted.

Lauchmelder2 votes

Yes.

I am in no way a player with insane mechanics. All I ever needed to get to gold was being a lot better at CSing than my opponents in the majority of my games.

Player3Th0mas1 votes

I'm having the opposite right now. Ended plat 5 last season, got placed in gold 4 this one.

Having a 60 % winrate across the board I got gold 2 with not a single set back. Had some trouble mid gold 3 where I got most of my losses, but going up steadily during the 34 games I played so far.

Last season was far worse for me.

Pierce The Veal1 votes

It’s only been getting worse for me since season preseason 4.

Murderdoll1 votes

Same, since pre-season I am feeling as useless as a dead leaf.

Pierce The Veal1 votes

Yep.

It’s especially bad for me cause I’m an assassin main that doesn’t play Kha’zix+Zed. Bam, I’m instantly garbo.

PhantomPrankster1 votes

its very important that you don't die this season

its possible to still win if people on your team die, but the fewer deaths you have on the team the better.

a lot of games you total more than 5 deaths and by that point you're pretty much putting your chances at victory in the trash.

Murderdoll2 votes

Yea I know that. I normally don't die more than 3 times in the first 20 minutes. But it kinda hard if people from other lanes suddenly pass by and dive you over and over. I'll try to die less, even later in the game.

Pika Fox1 votes

Youre trying too hard to play what is viewed as OP as opposed to playing what you know and are good at from what i can tell.

Murderdoll1 votes

I do like playing Nasus... But maybe I should actually play what I enjoy then. Thanks
