Right direction with Kass, but maybe a little too far? (or short :P)
My perspective as a bronze player on Kassadin:
I have had much success on Kassadin in the past, and I feel like it is not because of just the range going in, but because of the range getting right back out of the fights. Kassadin has stacking damage and mana cost with each consecutive riftwalk, I feel they should also implement a range reduction with each stack. Instead of just having a flat 400 range, they should let his first Riftwalk either be 700-600 range, then the second one 500-400, third 400-300, then the last stack and constant 200-100.
Riftwalk was a very low risk, high reward ability. Going in and doing a great deal of damage, and being able to escape just as easily. If Kassadin had a Zhonya's Hourglass, it was even less risky. Kassadin could just in-and-out chunk a high priority target before a team fight even starts, without taking damage (depending on the location). By reducing the distance of his out, it will make Kassadin players think twice about going as deep without the team right with you.
I feel like this change would keep Kassadin still mobile, while keeping the threat he should have while roaming. But it will also give him a weakness if he decides to go deep under a turret or into a team. Just my thoughts...
