AR URF, Permanent?

I would like to see AR URF be a permanent game mode in league of legends I have had more fun playing that in the last few days then I've had since I downloaded league. I like having the option, do I want to play a serious game, ok ill play ranked want some less serious fun maybe play blind or aram, want to have all the fun when you get a good champ in AR URF or Rage and have people laugh at you when you get a bad champ play AR URF. I would like to know people's opinion on this.

It's easily twice as fun as ARAM on average...

ARAM blows when you get a champ you don't wanna play or your team is countered, atleast AR URF you can recover or lose faster lol

Yeah ARAM feels slow and boring compared to ARURF

I am usually really opposed to people who ask for URF to be permanent because it would get really boring after a very short time. However, I definitely think that the all random aspect of it could prevent that from happening.

I voted yes.

I'm curious if the No voters feel ARAM is the only permanent "silly" mode that should exist.

Never gonna happen with any of the rotating game modes.

I'd prefer normal urf

Me too, but I'd take ARURF as a permanent if it came down to that or nothing.

... and then, since Riot seems really really opposed to making URF permanent, they could release normal blind-pick URF in the RGMQ from time to time as a novelty. Seems like a fine compromise.

I really enjoyed playing AR URF. Yes the random thing can become a pain in the butt, however, that gives some of us a chance to try out new champions and learn their abilities, mechanics, and the variety of builds that are possible. I thought that it was only going to be available for only the weekends. I guess not, because when I logged on today to play some URF it was nowhere to be found. I also would rather play and lose every match in URF with all of my accounts then play normal mode.

Looks like everyone who voted "Yes" did not learned anything from the removal of Dominion at all.

Care to explain? Dominion was around for years, had a very small competitive community, and was underplayed. I don't think it was ever as popular as URF. I'm guessing the staff got tired of creating/balancing items and champions around a very different game mode.

URF losses it's charm after awhile. Soon Queue times would be long because you could play it at any time. It would be under appreciated and forgotten.

One person's opinion, and evidently not the majority.

Also, queue times for ARURF were <20s Friday-Monday 24/7. I don't remember the last time my ARAM queue was that short. And I don't think Dominion's queue time was ever that short.

Basically all you've said is:

  • you are bored by URF
  • you would rather it remain unavailable because you are unable to appreciate it after a while

My advice is to deal with that personal problem on your own time, instead of make prescriptions for the whole community that prevent your having said personal problem.

You could say the exact same thing to people complaining about ARURF.

Actually, you couldn't, because those players aren't asking to restrict game mode accessibility. The onus is on anyone advocating a restriction to explain why that should apply to the whole playerbase, particularly when the reason you offer is clearly a personal problem.

Actually Doms queue used to be extremely short. I could get in within seconds, but as the years went on it jumped up to 30 minute waits in a normal dom queue where as you would always have that if you tried the draft dom queue.

Not for very long. It was always longer than normals, and within months of its release it was rarely less than 50 seconds.

  • Was exciting at first, but just grown stale after a few months.
  • It affects balance a lot, since SR & Dominion had a few different set of balancing systems.
  • After few months, queue times gets longer, players will not ve evenly matched within their MMR, bot players appears more frequently than SR, it just goes down to shits.

You do realize that ARURF is just a faster paced version of ARAM right? And people play the hell out of ARAM still.

URF still has laning, and ganks and still can come to a end with out being only big shit fests

Maybe they could develop 2 queues, one for all random for the people who want to switch things up, and one where you get to choose for those people who want to play a specific champion to have some fun with said champion.

Man,if URF or AR URF stayed then I'd play it everyday because at this point towers are already useless and games are short as it is so a hyper fast game mode makes total sense instead to play lol

URF being permanent would just be better because you can ban people and pick your champions. And it isn't really fun or funny to play a useless champion in a stupidly unbalanced game mode

Calamity1031 votes

i don't understand why they say urf had to much of a meta and we only really saw the same champs when that happens to every gamemode in league so why don't they make every gamemode random

AR URF is a fcking shtfest, AR ruins the best mode in the game. Having all champs in game means that you'll NEVER get to play anything you actually enjoy, forcing people to either not play the mode, be miserable in it or make the "ARAM smurf" (Which riot called unhealthy and tried to weed out, only to fck up later and bring them back). Just give us normal urf with op as sht sona and katarina, both teams get 3 bans and 90% more people will enjoy the game (People bitching that melee champs have no hope: Zed, Shaco, Talon, Garen, Amumu, Hecarim, Evelynn, Yi, Blitz, Mundo, Diana, Fizz, Gangplank, Illaoi, Jarvan, Lee Sin, Leona (With a premade atleast), malphite, renekton, nasus, pantheon, udyr, mao, skarner, ww(I'd guess?), wukong, xin, vi, shen, noc, naut, jax. That's just the ones I tried and got to work back when urf was actually fun and not a "Oh it's random, oh nice I got cassio, I think I played this 2 years ago, oh they reworked it, oh I fed, oh we lost, well gg, time to lose on the next champ I haven't tried in ages."

When the AR URF game mod restarted this year, I just played this game mod about 1 week non stop... So that is why I want to have this game mod permanent. I love this game mod!!! <3 #KeepThisGameModPermanent

AR URF (for me at least) is the perfect way to quickly learn to play with new champions. I usually only played 1 champ and that got me to plat V, but I never bothered to play with other characters and when I tried, I really sucked at it. Now with a few intense games of AR URF, I've actually gotten quite good at champs I tought would take me hours and hours to even begin to be good with. It's the perfect training-tool and a lot of fun as well. I think AR URF should be permanent and I would also enjoy to see the original URF (NOT random) back once in a while.
