Honor system for those who already have honor ribbons

So simple question I've searched a lot for a proper answer to this question, but couldn't find any reliable source. What happens to the people who already have honor ribbons once the new honor system will be implemented? It seems weird to just delete all the "achievements", we might say, that one earned throughout his league of legends experience. Right now i have a honorable opponent ribbon, will i get something bonus for achieving it? will it stick? or will it just vanish like it never mattered?

I think giving the summoner icons tied to the ribbons that were never released would be the best most acceptable bet.

like summoner icons? really? i thought they had more value, something that people look at and know that that person achieved something hard to get.

well you shouldnt be able to keep them because there making new ones. and they made some summoner icons when honor was released they just never released them and really summoner icons do the same thing.
