Proposal to Smite

Hi,

I would like to propose a small change to smite. At the moment smite deals 390 - 1000 (based on level) true damage to a monster or enemy minion.

I would propose this change: Smite deals 195 - 805 (maybe 652.5 would be better) (based on level) true damage to a monster or enemy minion. Smite deals 2% more damage for each 1% of dmg the user of smite dealt on the target. (maybe 3% vs dragons, baron and rift herald)

This will make buff stealing harder, but still make it possible against certain types of jungler which lack damage and are more focused around cc (sadly enough i play those when i jungle, but ok). Some cc junglers with a bit of burst might still be able to steal easier like gragas. The damage buff per level i propose because this change will make it harder for junglers that focus on counter jungling and so these junglers tend to level faster and will get an edge in that sense. This is also a buff to junglers which can jungle easy without a leach and so give sustain junglers like warwick and fiddlesticks a tiny buff and also a small slowdown to double jungling.

I think it is kinda ridiculous how a team focuses on killing baron or dragon and then they get zero edge for spending time on it over someone that might just come around and try to steal it and then you either end up with a teammate that feeds trying to steal or a teammate that fails to smite and so sets your whole team behind.

I am thankful for any responses

David

You are suggesting that there should not be any attempt to come in and steal barron which is at 1500 health just because you as the jungler did not do damage to it?

Baron steals are usually an act of desperation more then anything. Often a self sacrifice by the jungler to keep their team in the game.

It does not need to be changed and it adds some real risk to making a decision to baron when you killed one enemy but their jungler is still up.

I think that baron steals are too high reward for the risk u have for it, yes u can die and fail, but then u lost not as much as if u stolen the baron instead. People can still steal baron after this change it is just harder and I think making a game decide on who can click 1 button 1 mil sec faster is rly bad for gameplay.

First off, buff stealing is already hard as-is. It doesn't need to be harder. Just BEING in the Baron Pit invisible while the enemy team is doing Baron will almost surely kill you. Smite is fine right now, they don't need to change it and fuck the entire jungle.

AGAIN.

Buff stealing is not rly that hard as u picture it, I have stolen barons before , if it is a game ending baron and i fail game is done in any way, if i steal it it might save game. The reward for stealing a baron is giant and the risk is much smaller since u lose a lot if they get it anyways and teams can just full engage 4v5 if enemy goes into baron and maybe baron should add a slow of 25% for 5 seconds on champions.

You may have stolen Barons before, but that doesn't mean it isn't hard. The Risk-Reward of a Baron Steal is pretty decent: Risk is that, no matter what, unless I'm someone like Rek or Kha, I'm going to die. If I fail, I die and the enemy team will have Baron. That's one less person to help defend. Reward is that, if I succeed, my team now has Baron, minus me, because I died. Most importantly, though, they do not have Baron.

You're logic sounds like its coming from the perspective of someone who got a Baron stolen from them once.

Idk I think it's fine how it is. makes the game exiting and like you pointed out, if you are a damage focused jungler against a tank jungler, you would just win every smite war which I don't think is fair to get an instawin on those just because you played a carry jungler.
