I mean yeah, all those bot laners and mids are/were broken. Sett was incredibly broken too, though. That champion was one of the most laughable releases in League history.
As a top lane main, I've played that matchup so much now that beating Sett's ass is second nature. But still, every game against him feels like I'm being forced to outplay a champion leagues better than my own, like some sort of raid boss. A champion shouldn't always feel like they have an extreme inherent advantage like that. Sett feels like he's supposed to win, and that feels bad to lane against.
After playing 40 games against him (at least) in a short period of time, I can say that he's too strong, but he's held back by one of the worst player pools I've ever seen in my life. Like the average Sett player is incompetent to a hilarious degree. I can't tell you how many times a Sett, losing a duel against me, has slam dunked me into isolation just to immediately get his head torn off. Then they usually start bitching. They're terrible.
Ornn currently has a negative winrate in every server except your server and OCE. However, this is entirely the fault of his playerbase, as Ornns that max their abilities properly have a positive winrate globally. It's still nothing special or particularly oppressive at face value, but he does win more than he loses. It is worth mentioning that his banrate is abnormally high.
A 27% banrate usually means something is wrong. Akali was unfair and oppressive and has almost always had a negative winrate, but her banrate spoke volumes. Qiyana, a champion you list as broken (and mind you, I agree) currently has a 48% winrate (close to Ornn). Bad players are drawn to broken champions and bad players tank their winrates.
I can tell you the problem with Ornn. He one shots and puts the game on a timer. No one wants to play on a timer like that. No one wants a game that passes a threshold and just hands you a free loss. That's lame. Tanks also shouldn't one shot. Ornn is one of the reasons other top laners (some that you listed) are getting shoved out of the lane. Sett as well, while we're at it.
The best advice I can give you is to just stick to one thing and do it well. It sucks that the state of some lanes is so bad that all variance leaves the role, but that's a whole different problem. I main Kha top and have no problems with Ornn, Sett, Trynd, Akali, etc., for the most part. And he doesn't have many good matchups up there. If you're playing a bunch of different champions you're never going to consistently feel strong.
One tricking definitely isn't for everyone, but then, neither is top lane.
As for jungle, I don't know. Fuck that role, I quit jungle because I don't like relearning the game every other patch. Nice work, Ghost Crawler.
