Aurelion Sol's Secret usefulness

When thinking to myself yesterday, on the day of the dragon's release, I thought about a position to make him more useful than his current mid lane meta.

When looking at Aurelion Sol's kit, you realize that he offers massive cc, free poke, and decent peel with his ultimate. With this in mind, I took the liberty of trying Aurelion Sol Support, and to my suprise, it worked so much better than I thought it would. If built with Spelltheif's, with thunderlords as they keystone, Aurelion Sol does an amazing job of both engaging and keeping his ADC alive, with the ability to roam mid with a Star of Death every time the enemy is extended.

Not Necessarily confirmed this will work in all matchups, because no supports work in every matchup, but it's worth a try.

Please don't play him support. I don't want him to be zyra 2.0 where he was a midlaner and then people play him sup so rito goes and balances him around support. Please don't do this he looks fun I want to learn him and eventually play him well enough to use in ranked for a midland caster please don't make rito think he should be a support that would kill him for me just like zyra was killed for me

A support that is constantly visible in bushes and has a passive that automatically takes CS. What could possibly go wrong? /s

I'm interested in trying it sometime. How did you play the lane as support? What did you max first? How do you not manage to push/hit all the CS? Any mana problems?

Yesterday I played with an Aurelion Sol as a replacement for the ADC role... I supported him with Soraka. We demolished that lane and won the game.

actually, Aurelion is currently one of the few champions who are able to take all positions except for one which they have no synergy. His sustained poke damage, stun and ability to build tank allow him to top. The reasons you mentioned allow him to jungle.

the only position he won't fall into is ADC...though he could be made into one...he just doesn' thave the bases for it, like twisted fate's problem and most other mages

other champions of similar value are Ekko, Graves, illaoi, maokai, nautilus and I forget who else
