Someone said it was going to be a soft reset tomorrow.. so does that mean we do our first 10 gamea again? Thanks in advance guys tried finding another thread but couldnt

We are now in preseason; that means you can play Ranked (when it comes back up at least) and get promoted/demoted and all that as normal but nothing is reset yet.

Once the new season starts (mid January I guess) we will all be unranked and we'll lose a little bit of MMR for the 'soft reset' and you have to do 10 placement matches again.

I was pretty sure I read that preseason ends and season starts on the next patch, which would be about two weeks from now

There are going to be a few patches for this preseason, so it's not that soon.

It could be sooner than mid January, but that's my guess based on last season.

Being relatively new to the game, I can't really tell you what it means with pinpoint accuracy, but my assumption is that a "soft reset" would be that you lose your rank, but not your MMR.

Yes. You would have to play those 10 games again. However, if you were plat 1 with similar MMR, you'd still play with the same skill level that you did this season. If you were plat 1 with gold 5 MMR, you'd play with people who were gold 5 this season.
