Question about East Coast Ping
I've played LoL off and on since Pre-Season 2. I played casually since I had other games I enjoyed back then, however, I no longer play those games, so I really want to get into ranked more. Years ago, I had 80-100 ping and was probably a bronze 1 player (haha). These days I get an average of 100-150 ping, and I can play at a high gold level. The problem is the past few months, and especially recently, my ping often climbs to 300-400, and on top of that... I regularly get lag spikes of 800-1,000 ping at least 10 times per game. FPS is always 60. No problems there.
Just a week ago I was the jungler and my team(all lvl 18s) was killing baron. It was 3,000 HP and then my screen just froze and the ping went to 1,200. It finally resumes about 5 seconds later, their jungler stole baron with smite, wiped our team, and we lost the game we were so likely to win. I have stopped playing 5v5 games (even normal) and I can barely even play ARAM right now. If this doesn't get fixed, I'm done with this game :(
Also, I know my computer can easily handle LoL, so I wont post any specs about that. No one else in my house uses internet. I don't play with any other programs running. I have even done the latency fix so that it continuously sends packets instead of waiting for packet confirmation... this barely helped.
Do you guys have any tips/advice? What is the current news of Riot giving us East Coast servers? Also, I heard about LAN servers in Florida... How do I change to them?
