What im i doing wrong

I love league and i play for fun but i still try to win.

now i try to play a variety of champions but i have them few i play a lot and i been trying to play nunu and i always try to go tank but i feel like i do negative damage when i hit people like maybe i even heal them.

i find it really hard to kill people when i gank. and even though im full tank i die really easy in teamfights i just dont understand and if they have multiple tanks on there teams its impossible to kill anyone as tank nunu.

even if he isn't meta right now im not going to stop playing him but i would like to know if im doing something wrong or if should go ap nunu instead of tank.

Nunu isnt there to kill people hes there to soak damage and perma slow. His ult does insane damage but going to need to have that shit chanelled for a while.

i understand that but when the enemy jg is a olaf or j4 who is just as tanky but does more damage its hard to compete with that. i feel like because of the damage they can put out its easier for them to gank a lane and get there laner fed.

Each their own benefits.

Nunu has a second smite, J4 and Olaf dont. Nunu has much better sustain.

Well, as a tank, especially Nunu, you're not supposed to do damage. Your snowball should be on such a low cooldown that you can spam it and basically perma-slow the enemy. You're not super great at ganks, you're more of an objective control jg, who should focus on counter Jungling and securing dragon as often as you can.

As for blowing up as a tank, that could be from anything to building the wrong resistances, getting collapsed on, or the enemy being so fed that your tanks stats are nothing to their damage.

If you want to do at least some damage as Nunu, grab item 1401 as your jg item, then pick up item 3027 right after and then probably item 3001

Then just start building full tank, building armor for ad focused champ and mr for ap.

Ill have to try that and i have had a game where i have took every drag and rift and baron and we still lost because there jg was

You're playing a champion with 1 ability pre6 that does any damage to champions lol. Ganking mid as nunu will probably never work cuz it is a short lane and unless they're really far pushed it's fairly difficult to provide anything more than a movespeed slow on the gank. If you're going to gank, go either bot or top when they are pushed in, and make sure your top laner is close enough that they can assist since you do 0 damage yourself.

Regardless though, ganking isn't really one of nunu's strongpoints. He's mainly just really good for objective control like soloing dragon/rift herald, and just being a pain in the ass for the enemy jungler since he can steal enemy jungle camps so easily and has his bloodlust to move through jungle quickly. For the most part way you're gonna wanna play nunu is getting objectives for your team, showing up for counterganks instead of just starting ganks off, and stealing the enemy jungler's camps when they show up on the other side of the map.

AP nunu sucks, if you want a tank jungler that does more damage play something like olaf or jax or something similar. Although they aren't as useful later on in the gmae when they just get outscaled. But if you enjoy ganking, nunu is not the champ for you.
