Placement Matches
I heard that games in your placements do not affect your placement in a league as much this season. You'd think if you went 50/50 in your placements you would end up more or less in the same group. I went from G3 to S2. What gives?

Number of placements you win is not the deciding factor anyway; your first match is the most important, decreasing each til the last is least important. Also, everyone lost enough MMR to drop them around 3 divisions for the soft reset. And furthermore, your MMR is what mattered, not so much your rank. If you had MMR worse than the average for your division, you'll be worse off. What happened with your placement was a combination of some or all of these.
