About Akali

At reddit i wrote two letters about Akali's changes. I think now i can put it here.

(before 5/2) Greetings, Riot. I wanted to discuss some questions ONLY with you. I am an Akali player, she is the only character i play as. I have noticed that she has gained in popularity recently. Sooner or later you will start nerfing her(as we see now). I wanted to offer you a better way out of this situation. Akali is an asassin, firstly it would be right to restore her old passive ability (the one that can be activated)(Twin Disciplines). That will prevent her from snowballing. Secondly we need to change Hextech Gunblade and at least make it less dependant on her ability power and more dependant on her level. Also when getting the first Shadow Dance dont give her any essence. This way she would have to wait for the first stack's appearance. All of this will slow down her snowballing and it also won't make her considerably weaker. But i dont understand yours changes About Akali 1) Reduced Shadow dance (800->700) 2) Crescent Slash no longer detonate Q patch v1.0.0.142 Crescent Slash Energy cost reduced to 60 / 55 / 50 / 45 / 40 from 60 at all ranks Activates Mark of the Assassin's secondary damage And now there are changes with Crescent Slash just looks like trolling, because now you just wanna disable it. This changes will kill Akali. Ok mb reduced Shadow dance not so hard nerfing for killing, but changes with detonating really bad idea. Riot please, open eyes and try to discuss with people who play on Akali ( Voyboy, Westrice, Enigmatrix, Wingsofdeath and another players) P.S I understand that after this text people will disagree with me, but i just try to protect my interests. And I just wanna help with ideas about balancing Akali

(situation after 5/2) Earlier i said that Akali's mechanical changes was very bad idea and now you can see what happened 1)http://www.lolking.net/champions/akali&region=all&map=sr&queue=1x1&league=platinum#statistics 2)http://champion.gg/champion/Akali/Top I'll repeat myself again: Riot's balancing of their characters was incorrect. They had so many opportunities to "edit" Akali but they chose the stupidest option possible. I know that before v1.0.0.142 she couldn't consume the marks, but back then Akali was much more different, her passive ability she had then serves as a great proof to this statement. Now her line fase is terrible. I'm not saying she's unplayable, I'm just stating the fact that you should learn how to balance out the characters. What's the point in creating new characters if the old ones are terribly balanced? They way to reach the perfect balance is to make all the characters at least "playable"

As a fellow Akali main I agree.

I haven't played the game much in the past 5 months so coming back to HUGE Akali nerfs is taking a lot to get used to. Flashing to still be out of Ultimate range is annoying but is fine, the dash range was a little absurd to begin with.

The crescent slash change is what upsets me the most. Even though it is technically a revert to it working how it used to, I still find it a huge nerf in conjunction with the w changes a few patches ago.

As a top lane champion, there are so many more match ups that become virtually unplayable again with the changes to crescent slash. Before the changes, I could say that I was able to outplay even the hardest counters if I played perfectly, now champions such as Jax and Pantheon can mitigate Akali's damage completely and handedly win every single trade.

I think OP has the right idea with changing the way her ultimate recharges however I think her E should be reverted even if it is a trade off for something else such as having q draw minion aggro.

The E nerf just isn't necessary. Nerf her Spell vamp scaling and give back E proc.

no those changes wont kill akali they will make her wait in a shadow until riot nerfs everything to the point where she rises up again just like riot does with any champion that has some innate toxicity in their kit, they just push them back for a while so the problem can arise again in the future
