More Significant bans for afking/trolling in ranked

Lately I have been playing more ranked and the most consistent thing that I have noticed is an increase in toxicity and people who afk in games or never connect for that matter. Personally I view ranked as the pinnacle of league and therefore should be held to a standard above that of normal games for example. For this reason I was wondering if riot has any plans for implementing more strict punishments on those who are especially toxic in ranked games or who rage quit. It is just very annoying because It seems that if I play 5 ranked games I am going to get at least one game with a toxic player or afk.
