Recently i came back after 1 year break and had to play vs irelia top, i played this matchup plenty of times in previous seasons so i was quite confident despite sucky mechanics, lvl2 or 3 not sure i decided to fight in my wave and heres my first wtf moment i barely survived, i remember irelia not being able to do shit before lvl4 now she can bully me early levels, all is fine though because he and his jungler botched the dive and i escaped with a kill, at this point i think to myself well game is over they are full AD while im malph. I farm and try freeze the wave but enemy jungler keeps coming (while my yi is feeding on the other side of the map) so i cant really kill her for next few minutes, anyway im ahead and just bought my frozenheart so i decided its time to bully her, i slap her face she randomly decided to all in me and kills me in one ability rotation, WTF? death recap shows over 400 true dmg, after that i cant leave my turret further than few inches because she can always out trade and burst a full tank malphite, we obviously lose the game because im useless "tank" who melts in seconds. Im confused did they rework malphite into trash tier champion who cant even beat champions he is supposed to counter or irelia is just that broken?

yea welcome to new league. irelia was reworked. conqueror keystone gives true damage.

Conqueror is pretty stupid tbh, champs shouldnt have that easy access to true damage, fervor of battle was far more balancable b/c you could counterbuild it with armor

Conquorer and irelia has a shield break do your passive shield is fucked. Irelia is good until shield champs and conqueror is good into armor tanks.

Yea Irelia's passive gives her alot of magic damage, and conquror gives alot of true damage. The bigger issue for you would be the rune, and less so Irelia herself. You have to account for her magic damage passive tho - of which your frozen heart did little to protect against

Play really safe against Irelia in the early game, if she ever approaches you just use your e to reduce her attack speed. She will do extra damage to your shield with her passive as well. Poke her a lot tho and play passive. Irelia tends to push a lot so once you hit 6 and being pushed, get the jungler to gank you and ult her.
