Nidalee Players Want Riot To Step Up And Fix The Mess Riot Created.

I mean, look at the Nidalee mains subreddit, there is a new post every day. Numerous boards posts here in the last week with no red response. Nidalee players have gone in depth with Nidalee's problems and ways to fix Nidalee but it all seems to go unheard. Us Lane Nidalee players had our champion taken from us unfairly.

The main problem with current Nidalee is a 700 range pounce that locks you onto the hunted target, and Nidalee has too much damage loaded into executing targets.

This means when Nidalee gets ahead, she can't be stopped. She jumps across and 1 shots anybody who gets the hunt on them which isn't fair to the enemy nor fun for the Nidalee player.

Nidalee would be more fun to play against and to play if you had to land multiple spears instead of 1 spear/trap and then flying into them.

This is just in the last week, and it isn't slowing down. Players obviously are not happy with the way Nidalee currently is and would like Riot to step in and fix the problem. We do not want to ruin Jungle Nidalee, but to make Lane Nidalee playable again.

Please read these posts and discuss what Riot can do to fix her, and please get this issue in front of Riot!

Lol, I feel bad for nidalee mains. Imagine maining a mid laner, that riot buffs into an overbearing jungler. And instead of doing a full/partial revert of the original changes that made nidalee jungle broken; they start nerfing other aspects of a kit so that lane nidalee is no longer viable and only jungle nidalee is viable. Then they FINNALY go ahead and nerf the changes they made to make jungle nidalee too strong and now shes a champion that is gutted in both jungle and lane. I have no idea how a professional game company can get away with this kind of conduct, but maybe it's time people banded together and stopped buying skins untill riot is willing to be more transperent with its playerbase...

Riot, a lot of us want Nidalee reverted! The hunt passive is much more problematic than the old spears! Imagine playing a champion for thousands of games and then Riot changes it to be played in another role entirely.

I'm not buying a skin until Nidalee is in patch notes.

I hate Nidalee. I do. I hate Nidalee so much, she should get a revert. Yup. I would much rather deal with nuke spears that players can't hit than with random over 9000 pounce from half a screen a way. Fuck Nidalee. Declaw that cat. At least an amped up Nidalee spear can't put me to sleep and nuke me with true damage.

Granted, not a full revert. Shifting around power sounds good. Gotta spread that peanut butter, y'know? Can't just have it concentrated in one spot on the bread, otherwise that's just weird, y'know? So long as Nidalee isn't long-range jumping on me and 1-shotting me with an auto-attack or inting into the enemy team, despite having a massive lead. Really, Nidalee is more like a more complicated Nocturne, and at least Nocturne has a spellshield and the option to build at least somewhat bulky with bruiser items.

So yeah, declaw the cat, spread the peanut butter, man.

Nidalee is my most played champion and most mastery points. Nidalee is a different champion now, not the same as she used to be... which is sad. Old Nidalee was elegant and skillful. Currently Nidalee snowballs like crazy and has a much lower skill cap... and she is forced to jungle only.

Riot should make heavy changes to Nidalee so she can reclaim her old roles in League of Legends, where she has always belonged.

Playing Nidalee in her current state is not nearly as much fun and it provides a lack of counterplay for the enemy who is being jumped on from very far away to be 1 shot after getting any sort of Hunt passive mark on them.

FEAST OR FAMINE, CAN ONLY PLAY 1 ROLE.

Revert it like Rengar was reverted! 1 cat, now the other!

Riot is in the process of reverting Zac ult, they have reverted other champions too due to problems. Nidalee has these problems if not worse.

I won't buy another skin until Nidalee is changed.

Us Nidalee mains are desperate for a fix! You went and took my favorite champion and turned her into a useless jungler. I'm not pleased. item 2050

I haven't played much Nidalee in the last few years since the rework. It isn't fun and playing against it feels worse. Nidalee is always either OP or too weak in her current state, never healthy.

I agree with most people that have been posting that Riot should either revert Nidalee entirely, or look to removing the super long pounce if they want to make the current Hunt passive work. I've read a lot of threads on the NidaleeMains subreddit today and a lot of the posts have some really good ideas on what to do with Nidalee.

Knowing Riot though, we probably won't even get a response... either way I won't be buying a skin until Nidalee is healthy again, at least playable in lane.

I don't understand why Riot loves taking loved things away from their players.. the amount of people who mained Nidalee used to be 10x the size.. but most have quit League of Legends. I'm sure some would come back.

Nidalee has both a lot of upsides and downsides in her current form. These are what I immediately think of, but of course I am sure there are many things in both categories that I have missed. Despite having a lot of PROS, there are a lot of CONS. I believe the current Nidalee to be feast or famine and toxic gameplay similar to how original Rengar was, but with a skill shot gimmick to land before bursting.

PROS:

  • Spear moving slower than original speed allows for more counterplay/dodge-ability.

  • No longer moving backward for more damage after spear is thrown.

  • Traps are improved; They used to be slightly visible, but lasted a lot longer, had no health bar, and did more damage. They granted a lot farther vision and were pretty busted. You have real counter play against the current traps with vision control and the health bar.

  • The current state of Items (Rod of Ages, Athenes, Lich Bane, Ludens, Trinity Force, BOTRK, etc) gives the player a lot of flexibility on how they want to play Nidalee.

  • Nidalee combos are still present and are a lot of fun.

  • Animation Canceling still being present in her kit.

  • Pounce cooldown lowering on kill is fun and a rewarding skill for wave manipulation and jungle clear.

  • Auto attack reset being removed by switching forms was a bit unfair in melee vs ranged.

CONS:

  • Hunt Passive on Jungle camps makes Lane Nidalee impossible to be viable without breaking Jungle Nidalee.

  • Closing the gap on a target with the Hunt requires no skill or pathing strategy

  • Missing Health Heal instead of a flat Heal makes laning Nidalee difficult. (Not to say heavy amounts of sustain in a kit is good, but making an ability useless isn’t good either).

  • Too much damage is loaded into Cougar Q versus targets with “Hunt mark”. It needs to be distributed around her kit.

  • Cougars are faster than people, Nidalee no longer gaining movement speed in cougar feels wrong thematically and the Hunt gives too much movement speed currently.

  • Current spear hitbox has been nerfed and does not accurately represent the model of the spear flying through the air. This is a problem with other champions such as Morgana’s Q or Lux’s R. Riot has fixed Blitzcrank Q as of recent.

  • The rework reallocated too much damage from Nidalee’s Spear (Q1) into her Cougar auto reset (Q2) and also made it an execute. Doing so resulted in damage being a bit too high from the cougar Q. This resulted in Q1 not feeling as satisfying landing it from long ranges, while Q2 seems much too strong and at times overkilling opponents. Killing enemy carries at 60% hp with simply Q2 and Hunt passive is much too strong. It’s nonsensical and not fair in terms of counterplay.

  • Nidalee's movement speed is too loaded into the hunt, she is incredibly slow in comparison to the rest of the champion roster for a cat. But when you have the hunt on somebody you cannot be outrun unless it is a Talon hopping over wall after wall.

It's hard to imagine a Nidalee carrying a game in her current state unless she snowballed the whole game out of control in 15 minutes. She has the ability to overkill a champion rather than a just kill a champion..

The pounce makes her feast or famine and it's getting old. Maybe a full revert is not the way to go, maybe it is? Either way there is something really wrong with her currently.

I think I would join the rest of you guys in the not buying a skin until Nidalee is changed, but it is really hard when the "your shop" comes in at 80% off lol.

Riot August should look at Nidalee, he seems to do a good job at fixing champions with problems like this.

In the past, Riot has reverted champion reworks that promoted unhealthy gameplay. I think Nidalee falls under this premise.

I do not play Nidalee, but playing against Nidalee seems to be unhealthier than it was back in the day when a spear would take a carry out of a fight, I believe they have nerfed the projectile some so it shouldn't be that bad if damage returns.

Upon reading the State of Nidalee post on NidaleeMains, I believe Riot should have realized a long time ago that they made a great mistake once they had to nerf Nidalee 15 times after her 5.2 change before we even got to Season 7.

Riot should do something about Nidalee being able to fly onto you from across the screen. As a Mordekaiser main, I would rather try to dodge more than 1 spear with my slow fat ass than a kitty clawing me from the river.

Hopefully Riot doesn't do to Mordekaiser what they did to Nidalee... that was an atrocity of a rework back in season 4..

I may disagree on what her problem is but I do agree that she has a fixable problem and that riot handled balancing her poorly. Instead of nerfing her across the board jungle nidalee should have been the one punished not lane nidalee. Hopefully they fix her one day.

I'm diamond 4 and I still try to make Nidalee mid viable.... It never works but I still try. Im a mid main and have been for 3 years and Nidalee is my second most played champion ever. I would love and support anything to get her back into lanes again. I even have a guide to Midalee on MobaFire... It's the second most popular Nidalee guide period... So clearly I'm not alone in wanting her in lanes.

Wow this is blowing up, it is clear that there is something wrong with current Nidalee and it's good to see people are talking about it!

I really like the suggestion of removing her attack speed from her heal and her attack fast for a set number of attacks.

I also like the idea of removing cougar damage amplification if we do not nerf the really long pounce.

I would like to thank everybody who has posted something constructive and not some nonsense like "change Nidalee and I will uninstall". Those sort of people need to get a grip. If you think Nidalee is fine please list out why instead of being a (REMOVED BY MODERATION) .

Uhhhhh, she's still fine top lane. Definitely not a tier 0 or tier 1 pick, but definitely a balanced tier 2 pick. Champ's nutty when you master her cougar form reset(s).
