Mastery System Provoking new wave of instalock scum

Tl;Dr: I am getting sick of instalockers and I think the sudden surge is caused by champ. mastery update. Please vote in poll with your thoughts. Good luck on the Rift

Thank you Riot, yet again, you have made something amazing (no sarcasm, I love the champ mastery idea) but what has come with this amazing gift from the gods up in Riot HQ. has caused a problem nobody could have contemplated, unparralled on scale, etc. Instalocking has now become the norm. for all blind pick normals! No longer may I play who I want, because I get people who seem unable to call a position locking in, without fail, every game. I am yet to get a position I want, because of these scummy beings. (This may sound like a nerd rage, or a little kid screaming his head off, I will try to remove this image further on (and will most likely fail)).

Here's the reasoning behind the very empty heads of all these instalockers:

Summoner 1 (Wants to go mid, locks in Orianna ): mid Summoner 2 (Also wants to go mid and lvl up their Leblanc): MID OR FEEEED Summoner 2 : MID OR FEEEED Summoner 2 : MID OR FEEEED Summoner 2 : MID OR FEEEED Summoner 2 (Reads chat and locks in) Summoner 3 (Wants a reasonable game that they may win): C'mon guys, Leblanc go supp, Orianna you called mid first. Stay there. Summoner 3 : I guess I get to go top, adc or jung... I'll go top Summoner 3 (Locks in top in meta champ) Summoner 2 (Stares at screen, drooling down chin (remember, they have an IQ of nearly 0)) Summoner 3 : Summoner 2, please take exhaust, it would make it easier to help you adc secure kills. Summoner 2 (Still stares at screen, drooling down chin) Summoner 4 : adc please Summoner 5 (locks in Velkoz and says nothing) Summoner 3 (has a tantrum) Summoner 4 (locks in Sivir)

END OF CHAMP SELECT

Now let's have a look at each summoner:

Summoner 1:

  1. Thinks they are amazing
  2. Is full of self belief
  3. Wants to level up Orianna on their champ mastery

Summoner 1 is a "fair enough summoner," they want to get somewhere and try to do it as legitimately as possible.

=====================================================================================

Summoner 2:

  1. Thinks they are God
  2. Acts like they are God
  3. Is Cardboard V
  4. Wants to level up their Leblanc
  5. Does not care about how they get there

Summoner 2 is an "I am desperate to succeed but can't unless I practice in customs etc. yet I don't so I must drag everybody down with me summoner," they are what it says on the can.

=====================================================================================

Summoner 3:

  1. Good guy
  2. Wants to make the game fun for their team, whilst winning
  3. Is still able to get angry (even though they try really hard not to)
  4. Is trying to improce whilst having fun

Summoner 3 is an "Unexplainably nice person," they just want to have fun and get better. These people should be the subset of the community. I am not one of these, I get annoyed much easier that this guy would, but I am posting on behalf of all the unexplainably nice people out there, who won't post this sort of thing - it may be mean but in the end it is fair. This is my stand, against the dark side of our community, and for the side that wants good games for all; win or loss. I am not attacking the people of League who feed, I really don't care, as long as you aim to improve.

=====================================================================================

Summoner 4 & 5:

  1. Want a game done with as little hastle as possible
  2. Will either open up during the game or stay silent
  3. Might be a smurf, or a casual player.

Summoners 4 & 5 make up a good chunk of the community, as the "Just give me a game summoner." I don't have must to say, against you, or for you. Maybe just try to communicate a bit more, but other than that, just keep going, plugging away at that thing that is a combo, a mechanic etc.

=====================================================================================

There's my mock champ select and motive calculation from todays experiences. If you have any experiences that conflict with mine, you might have been on the other team ;). But please post below with any comments or questions, and I will make a poll, so Rito may see your experiences quickly.

Thanks for reading. item 3070

I instantly lock in my champion... then I instantly lock in my lane, role, runes and masteries, and then I instantly queue up for a team that wants me.

I'm not aiming this at you, maybe read, maybe realize that it is the person that doesn't call the role in time and then locks in that I am ranting at.

I think you're missing that he's suggesting you play team builder if you want to level up a champion.

Sorry to be blunt, I explained the teambuilder flaws, maybe I'll try and get a 5 team together...

Every queue has flaws. If you're not happy with the flaws native to the one you're picking then pick a different one. It really is that simple.

I just searched the whole thread for the word "builder," and it only appears in the comments. I'm not re-reading the post just to find your explanation of teambuilder's flaws, but I'll say this: compare the time it takes to assemble a team to the time you'll spend losing as your instalocking teammates troll each other and feed.

Instalock? That doesn't exist bro... unless you are playing those "blind picks" but then you are doing it wrong anyways. There's no reason whatsoever to even play "blind pick".

Go play Draft or Team Builder. Problem solved.

Play normals, and savour the experience (you will feel ill), draft doesn't feel right, Team builder takes 5 hours to match make, unless you have a bot lane.

I would rather wait an extra 5-10 mins to get in to a game with Team Builder or Draft Pick than ever experience what you are describing above and waste 20+ mins on a lost game/dodge penalty.

I dont see it happening any more. I rarely see instalock in the first place

Not against the rules to play the champion that you want to play.
