Riot, you heard wrong

Not sure where you got your numbers but 100% of the people I know and play LoL with use item sets. Please reconsider adding them.. It will make me so much slower and worse if I have to remember every item at all times, I don't think it's possible for me personally

*Edit Just because you don't use a feature doesn't mean it shouldn't exist Silver and bronze players never buy pink wards, might as well remove them from silver and bronze I guess..

I made an item set once, but i havent used it in years. Item sets are like that thing that a new person needs to remember what he read on the internet. Traversing the shop takes 1 sec, no matter the item

I have an item set and i still search for items its just muscle memory to search for items this isnt a big deal your life isnt over

I use often use different builds from those recommended or those from things like championify. It really allows me to gain a lot of time (you like rick clicking a legendary offensive item in your recommended section and then start buying some tanky-ish item too, right? I kinda feel like you're saying a plain out no to non traditional builds... Here are a few examples of the ones I use the most: http://i.imgur.com/vsJuv4O.png I also use the item sets to have immediate advantage the moment i die (anyone seen siv's video, where he uses an item set full of mejai's, so that if he kills an enemy with ignite post-mortem, he gets extra stacks?) when I play brand (there could be others, like cassiopea...) rylai's is a core item, and if I die with, say, and ultimate that will proc 3 stacks a few times, i'm happy to be able to slow them in order to let my team escape or chase them down. This could actually win a game: http://i.imgur.com/d8WCbfH.png Please, I don't mind you removing it from the client, but I really need the item sets to be available, maybe in the game files? Or officially recognize a third party programm that allows for personalized item sets

Or you could be like 99% of all players, and not use item sets. Learn what items to build on which champions and remember them. Give me any champion right now and i can tell you how to build them. Its not hard, its called learning the game......not having the game remind you what items are good on whom and why. You should want to know why certain items are good on certain champions. That helps you to learn how to properly itemize any champion for the situation you're in

Considering how poor the outcry for them is riot kinda has a point. Not many people seem to care that they are leaving.

Is this why I can't add items anymore?

Ralanr10/19/2016, 12:34:35 PM2 votes

Honestly I stopped using them when I realized recommended items are usually on point. And it doesn't take too long to find an item I need if it isn't there.

yeah...notepad so hard to use these days. I mean the sheer effort it takes me to google Twitch probuilds its insane...i dont know how im even going to function after custom item sets are removed*[slayer-jinx-unamused]*

100% of the people I know and play LoL with use item sets.

Most likely plays alone. Uses item set on Ezreal.

/j

Btw why are u guys so against it? Just cause you are using it? I didn't see much of a commotion when Riot fucked up shit after shit asfter shit asfter shit and shit that you most likely mildly enjoyed.

Why do you believe your case is somehow so much more important?

Special snowflakes -.-

Silver and bronze players never buy pink wards

I buy one at the start of every match while using most supports, but nice try

devdev46310/19/2016, 9:32:54 PM2 votes

The fact that you and players you know use this feature is not a logically sound basis to say that riot is wrong when they say only a small % of players use it. The world doesn't revolve around you.

Chromatic Eagle10/19/2016, 4:05:20 PM1 votes

100% of people you know, may still be 1% worldwide. Keep in mind that I'm miffed about this.

My Sea Cow10/19/2016, 4:42:54 PM1 votes

It's not that hard to search for an item you need especially if you know the name and open up the shop page as you're backing. Honestly, IMHO, item sets lock newer/less experienced players into the mindset of "oh I just need to buy what's on my item set and that's it" when not every game needs all those items. .

Every game is situational so items will be as well...unless you can honestly think of every situation you'll encounter, which would be impossible for you to do, item sets won't help you. Yes you have a core item or two that is necessary on your champion but you should never set it stone what you build prior to the game starting, ever.

Leon Etoile10/19/2016, 4:45:00 PM1 votes

You would have know over 1 million people who use item sets for it to be over 1%.

You do not know a million people.

MunchCrunchLunch10/19/2016, 12:03:23 PM1 votes

i dont see a point of item sets tbh. i dont know anyone that uses them. i never used them

A Kiting Janna10/19/2016, 6:43:18 PM1 votes

I don't use item sets because my build will change depending on who I am facing or who is on the enemy team. I could add in all those items into the item set but then it would just make sense to go through the shop and buy the items that I need. One of my friends used item sets but after the first item he has to buy different things that aren't on the item set so he just stopped using the item set altogether.

So I am glad they are removing the item sets. Because I want my friend to learn the items and not just buy whatever is on his item set without thinking about who he is facing

Praetor Notorias10/19/2016, 7:32:02 PM1 votes

Back in the day if you bought the wrong item you could only sell it back for the loss of gold. There was no undo button. You kids are getting soft.

I love when people just SEARCH for causes to fight for. They always pick the most pointless shit.

Vegathron10/19/2016, 11:19:40 PM1 votes

I have a possible solution. it may be hard to code but what if "recommended items" was dynamic in that it checks the top say 20 items REAL players use and lists them. for me i only use item sets on a new champ that is not an adc after that i can just get a feel of what kind of items work. thoughts?

Elikain10/19/2016, 2:42:16 PM1 votes

Not sure where you got your numbers

From where they always get their numbers? Their own database... Why is this question even asked?

100% of the people I know and play LoL with use item sets.

How many people are we talking about? Last time i checked, League's community has millions of players worldwide. And on such a big sample size, only a small percentage actually use Item Sets. I'm one of those people too. At the very launch of the Alpha, Item Sets aren't going to be implemented. But in the future, they might be brought back.

Leetri10/19/2016, 12:26:46 PM1 votes

I'm gonna start with saying that I would honestly prefer if they kept item sets (more options is always good), because otherwise everyone's just gonna blindly downvote. But anyway, anecdotal evidence is not true evidence. 100% of the people I know who play LoL never use custom item sets, which is the complete opposite of your statement. Both are equally valid though, since they're just anecdotal.
