Is blitzcrank a good support or does thresh outclasses him?

Blitzcrank is a good support if you can land hooks on a priority target relatively consistently.

Thresh is a better support in most other situations.

Thresh outclasses him. Blitz is a one trick pony. He grabs and that champ comes in meld range and that's it. What if it's an mummy or Darius or garen or any other all in champ? That would be a bad idea. Thresh completely ccs a champ and had the option to go in, and can bring another with him, or let go.

While Thresh is more suited for more situations, especially in team fighting, he isn't as tanky early on as Blitz. Blitz dominates thresh early on since his pull can pull under towers or into ganks. Thresh is more of a bail out early on but can be as good if you and your adc can coordinate his hooks. Personally this comes down to a matter of what game play do you want? Separation or AOE CC +utility. Blitz probably is better for solo q since he does not rely on coordination between members, everyone just nukes his pulled target. Thresh needs teamwork to shine. since his q sends him to whom ever he hooks he needs someone to follow up.

Thresh has more utilities, but he's more suited for team play and working together. People have to know to use his W, which a lot don't know.

I've been experimenting with AP Blitz lately, getting 2 Nashor's Tooth which means high attack speed, 325+ magic damage and 40% CD's. Let me tell you, it's a nice build. Knockups every 2-3 seconds, turrets go easy, non-stop punching and often I get more CS than other people on my team. It gives me a huge advantage over other supports, though I do sacrifice the tankiness. No one ever builds magic resist either which is great.

Tbh Thresh is the best champion in the game. Challenged only by Tahm right now.
