Is a high death count bad for a top laner? Seeking master + / high diamond responses

My past 20 games have been 5.7 / 9.3 / 4.9 Average 1.13:1 KDA (Kill Participation 34%) mostly in top lane playing Jax and Yasuo. I'm currently rank D5, have played this game since the beginning and peak elo is D1 this season.

My death count has been so high lately for various reasons. Sometimes the game is thrown and my death is also thrown in there.. but I'm a top laner. Shouldn't the death count resemble how the game went, not how good I am?

When you look at all Plat and higher ranked matches, average deaths for a top laner is around six, so you're dying around 33% more than average.

But If your last 20 games all went poorly beyond your control, some of that would factor into your KDA as well.

And if you look at KDA at Diamond+, you're looking at an average of around 3, so you would be preforming at around 1/3rd of average. It would explain the fall from D1 to D5. Though, that varies by champion. Yasuo for example is third from the bottom for Average KDA, coming it at 1.7 in Diamond and above.
