Ranked 5's matchmaking Issue

Why is my ranked 5's Bronze 1 team getting put against a 17-0 Silver 5 team with 2 players who are Platinum in solo/duo? (We were not on a winning streak when we fought them. Our last 5 games were W-L-W-L-L.

This is a serious Question. I want to know how matchmaking works in ranked.
