Why do you lose LP if an AFK is detected?

The other day, I was playing a ranked game. I was playing Ahri against a Fizz, was doing good against him, and got first blood after he misplayed when I got him into my tower with a charm... Until he got level six and insta-killed me at 3/4 health, of course. I thought it wasn't a big deal, but bot was kinda feeding and I started to do bad after getting ganked a lot and stuff (I admit that I was doing bad, not gonna blame it on anyone else). But the feeder in bot wasn't the Annie support, it was the ADC, Ezreal. Top wasn't doing too hot either, and our jungle was just doing okay at the time. So of course, enemy team starts to get in the lead and start with the first dragon, a few kills up, and I think they got my mid tower right after they took dragon while most of us were dead. I thought there was still hope to come back, but then our top laner and our jungler disconnect... At the same exact time. Then, arround 2 minutes later, Ezreal disconnects. So, me and Annie are like "wtf" and are clinging on for our Nexus' life as our inhibitors get destroyed 15 minutes into the game. They disconnected at less than ten minutes into the game, and I guarantee you they probably ragequitted. The enemy team was nice, though, they weren't like "GG ez" or anything and instead sympathized with us for our situation. So props to them, and props to Annie for not giving up. However, I have never understood why the hell you still lose LP when you have an AFK. Even if it's a 4v5 and someone is disconnected long enough for the AFK warning to appear or whatever, then you shouldn't lose LP if you end up losing the game. Obviously, if you win you should still gain all the LP you deserve.

TLDR~ Was losing a game, but not so bad that the enemy was stomping. 3 of my teammates disconnect and all the disconnects happened within like 2 minutes of each other. They probably ragequit, and it was a 2v5 then, so we lost horribly. My proposal is that Riot should implement a system in which you don't lose LP if you have had an AFK and you lose. And I don't just mean disconnecting for like a minute, I mean a proper disconect and the person was DCed long enough to get an AFK warning

Sorry for the long postand the long TLDR.

EDIT: I mean, with my idea, if the enemy team wins against a team with AFK(s), then losing team doesn't lose LP (already explained everything above), but the enemy team that won still gains the LP. Otherwise, it would just be a stupid waste of time.

I agree. If someone's name is in red at the end of the game, they were afk. That team shouldn't lose any LP.

Because if you didn't lose LP because of AFKers, then premades would exploit such a thing for ELO boosting (moreorless).

EDIT: To put it in perspective, say you are losing. One of your friends could just leave and then you wouldn't suffer LP loss. Rinse and repeat until you're in Master tier.

Yeah, Players shouldn't be penalized because a leaver ruined their game.

Either give them a loss prevented or half the points lost.

Maybe you could add if you AFK and you have a duo then you lose double LP and the duo partner loses whatever LP they would of lost anyway.

That way it would prevent boosting through duoing and intentionally AFK to prevent LP lost on the account being boosted. While still playing a heavy penalty the actual AFKer.

Edit: Also it should grant loss forgiven that way series and promos are safe.

It would be too easily exploitable. These posts are on here literally everyday. I got demoted after an AFK game. Get over it. The amount of AFKs per total games played is too small to make a difference in the grand scheme of things.
