Soraka; Why did we even get Executioners back?

REDUCED HEALING 50% ⇒ 40% LESS GENERALLY GRIEVOUS Grievous Wounds now only affects self-healing instead of all healing

The only champions who get a lot of guaranteed mileage on self heals are Volibear and Mundo, this would have been a cool item to have back because of you know, Soraka, oh except this item doesn't work on soraka, oh wait now nothing that used to work works on soraka. Allied heals now officially have NO counters. You either have perfect flanks perfect engages perfect team target selection all the time or you lose to soraka, straight up. Laning against her? Sorry bro, you do not get the opportunity to play league of legends.

Jax has no self healing in his kit. Any adc with item 3072 has more self-healing.

Considering Jax currently builds Hextech Gunblade (and his Q, W, and ultimate passive count as single-target spells), he heals significantly during extended fights. Just like an ADC with Bloodthirster.

So you want to build an item and counter a whole champion? Seems rather silly to spend about 3k gold to make things a 4v5.

Executioner's Calling costs 800 gold.

And yet people still don't build it.

Well I meant turning it into mortal reminder, but yes. Even better. 800 gold to 4v5. All Soraka does is heal. It's fair that if she's good at one thing she's fucking amazing at it.

Just play thresh, Braum, or Leona and shit on her.

Or blitz. Blitz is a bigger jackass because he can w>e>r> and then q when you try to flash away.

He's the scariest thing to a Raka. I'd say Leona or Braum next because nobody knows how to play a thresh.

For that combo, soraka could just E.

Reaper Soraka1 votes

Well w/e are cast beforehand, she can silence the ult if she gets it down before knockup, but she'll still likely need flash.

Not completely true, a competent Soraka can counter those three champions. It's a skill matchup heavily in those champion's favors, but it isn't an instant loss for Soraka.

Also not sure if you know, but GW only affects self-healing now. Soraka healing herself through Q is harder, but she still heals a lot from allies (ultimately what she wants to do.)

Yet ppl buy QSS and hourglasas to count malz/zed respectively

However it isn't a straight cut to utility. Someone with Zhonyas can still easily be kiled by Zed, as with QSS. They are just tools put in place to give the enemy more of a chance to fight back. Grievous wounds, on the other hand, straight up would just cut Soraka's whole point. Zed can still auto attack, cast spells, and burst against zhonyas. Zhonyas can also have a down time. Grievous wounds does not.

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

Nah I pref grievous wound the way it is now, but it would be better if it was 55% instead of 40%. if you build up enough you can pretty much negate the effects of grievous on some champs

Soraka's gotta change. Agreed.

Why is such a passive playstyle so effective?

It's not. If she doesn't land Qs she will run out of health fast and be unable to heal. She also needs to land Es to maximize her utility in a team fight. Just because she doesn't go roflrofl all in like Leona doesn't mean it's a passive playstyle. Go ahead and try to play pure passive and see how far it gets you.

I'm also not buying the grievous wounds argument people throw out. Soraka R already ignored it, and there was maybe, maybe one ignite on a team, meaning that her heal targets almost never had grievous wounds on them anyway. Soraka IS annoying, but grevious wounds isn't the problem. It's the new masteries.

Actually I have the #1 most passive player as a friend, they can just build warmog late game and dont even care about landin qs

But late game she isn't passive anyway because she has to be a very active player in team fights. Nobody is passive in the late game, so as long as she's active in the early game she's OK. And she's very active in the early game.

Countering soraka is as easy as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8G1Q1jAIqo

Soraka relies on self-healing to fuel the healing of her allies. Grievous Wounds is fully effective against her. It used to be doubly effective against her.

Oh no, I guess we'll just have to... Focus her squishy face first. (Her W range could stand to be nerfed though.)
