How does being demoted a full tier work?

I hit P5 last week and will probably just be playing ranked once a month to avoid decay, due to the fact that I need to focus on work and school again. I know that threads from 2014 and 2015 say that you need to drop to G5 MMR to drop a division, but I've read more recent cases online where people starting dropping at around G2-G3 MMR. What is the current policy on this?

It's supposedly still the same (divsion 5 mmr) but honestly you should be fine as long as you only play one ranked game per month for the next 5 months. 5 losses shouldn't get you demoted.

First, you cant get demoted from P5 due to decay, second, you need to lose enough games that your MMR is so low that they can't keep you in that division i.e. 8-12 losses in a row @ 0 lp
