[Feature Request] "Allow Ally Assist Move"
Much attention has recently been spent on adding more dedicated supports and support-related gameplay, which is great.
However, there appears to be one important ability theme that is somewhat lacking from the game currently -- abilities that directly affect the location or control of allied champions. The reason for this is obvious: In pub matches it would be extremely annoying to have people constantly teleporting your character around the lane without your permission.
A notable exception to this is
Kalista's ultimate, which verifies your willingness to be forcibly moved around through the
Black Spear dynamic. However, I think this sort of ability should be made available to other characters (both existing and new) by adding an interface toggle button (and associated hotkey) that toggles on/off the "Allow Ally Assist Move" feature. Toggling it off would prevent allies from moving your champion with their abilities so that you can't be trolled by annoying pubbers, while still allowing for movement-oriented support champions to be added to the game. A checkbox for it could also be included in the game options to set the default value.
Examples of existing champions this could be useful for are
Singed, who could Fling snared allies out of danger, and
Twisted Fate, who could target allies with Destiny to swap places with them.
Kalista could even be changed so that
Black Spear no longer requires consent but binds automatically when targeted at an ally.
As for new abilities, I would love to see a new dedicated support champion who had some normal ability similar to
Kalista's ultimate that moved allies out of danger without the knock-up component. Another example would be an ability that turns the ally into an incorporeal ghost, making them untargetable and allowing them to move through walls while preventing them from attacking for the duration.
To summarize, I think this feature would greatly enrich the teamwork side of the game, allow some more utility for support champions in general, and add a large variety of new potential support abilities for upcoming champions.
