What is warwicks role?

Hey every one. I recently started playing again after 2 years. I was placed in bronze 5 because i sucked bad and climbed my way to silver 2 in just a couple of days. I have mained warwick as i really like the new rework.

My question is what is his role and how is he mostly played? I play him as pure damage in order to be able to cary if my team mates are doing bad and mostly try an assassin type of play where i only get into fights if my ult is up otherwise i splitpush or farm.

How ever i know that this might not work if i climb out of silver so my question is what is the warwick meta right now and whats his role?

Jungle. At level 7 he can solo all jungle monsters except Baron. His scent always him to travel jungle fast. and hes good with ganks.
