Maximum Morde1 votesNot true. It soft resets, basically putting your mmr at the mid point between avg mmr(~silver 4/3ish) and your mmr. That mmr is then modified by your place ment matches to determine where you endup.
Basically, if you were wood 5, you will start slightly higher going into placements, but you shouldn't expect to magically get out of bronze even going 10/10. That might land you in like bronze 2.
If you were high bronze though you can place into silver by doing very well in placements though.
On a fresh account that starts at the midpoint, you can actually lose like 8 matches maybe even 9 and still be placed in silver 5 though lol.

Maximum Morde1 votesProbably because your old mmr was so low that even with the boost from soft reset it was deep deep in bronze 5. That's way more common to bronze 5 folks cause the mmr range is from 0 to bronze 4 which is absolutely enormous of a spread. People really close to the 0 end are going to end up still in bronze 5 even winning all 10 with the soft reset cause they are just that deep in.

Maximum Morde1 votesThe best thing you can do is stop playing ranked for now, and get the rank tunnel vision out of your head. Go play tons and tons of normals to get used to your champions for a few months. Then go back to ranked and you will probably find yourself doing pretty well. When you hit a slump again go do the same thing back to normals. It's like training yourself and getting out of a stesssful environment so you can focus on improving instead. That will boost your confidence and let you get better faster since you won't be worried about losing rank so you can try more risky stuff out to learn what you can and cannot do.
It will be a long road from the depths of the bottom of bronze 5 but you can do it for sure.

I noticed when you play supports that you never buy sightstone, and you ward very poorly. Is there any particual reason why u are against vision and knowing what your opponent is up to? I commend u for playing supports, as support got me out of silver. But your builds as support are very strange and i cant understand why u built some of those items. Your last game with morgana support, you placed LEAST wards as support. Why?
Dukues1 votesThis - If you were bronze you will stay bronze. Unless maybe you were bronze 1 and went 10-0. With the soft reset everyone drops, and since there is no where for bronze players to drop besides bronze, that's where you end up.
I only know one person who has ranked up after soft reset and that was my buddy last season. He was G5 and went 10-0 and was placed into G3.
I am currently G5, but expecting to be placed S2 or S3 with a 7-3, 6-4 record (assuming placements go the same for me as the last 2 seasons).

Balthid1 votesWhere did you end last season? that will determine where you get placed. If you ended in bronze lsat season and win 7-9 games you will still get bronze because that is where your mmr is. I was diamond last season so i could win half as many games as you and still get Plat for example.

Commit Sudoku1 votesno offense but if you belong higher than bronze it should just be an easy climb I don't mind getting placed in a lower rank after reset because I know I can get out like I did last season. It feels like child's playing in gold for me if it doesn't feel like that in bronze you belong there.

FHMarshy1 votesDon't be discouraged! when rank reset, Riot usually put you to a few tier below where you belong. (Master tier and challenger tier is empty right now). If you belong in say high bronze, then you should climb there no problem
ConcussiveThrows1 votesit will take you time but I'm sure you'll get out i mean i managed to get from bronze 5 to silver 4 playing only support so either i got lucky or i learned how to carry with support. The elo your placed at is a pretty good indication for where you belong for that time the only thing i can say is grind more and more in order to get better. try and find a champ that clicks with you and play the hell out of them. i spammed 
all the way up. you just need to practice i guess. it might take you a while but its worth it.
