Let’s talk about azir.

Everyone can agree azir is in the dumpster and has been in the dumpster for the better part of 2 years now. Now I’m asking, why is riot giving up on one of the most fun and exciting champions to play? I get it, he’s a complicated champion and therefore difficult to balance. However, the state he’s in now is the worse it’s been since release. The rework was a massive failure. Now we have an azir who cannot bully to make a lead for himself due to his mana cost and dismal early damage. Riot justifies this by saying his late game makes up for it. Here’s the problem with that, after the rework he’s no longer a long range control mage. Now at the range he can attack with his soldiers he’s well within adc auto rage (for most adcs) and midlaners full burst combo range. This is a huge issue because azir has to be stationary. At this point I truly believe the rework was riots biggest rework failure and I believe the only way you’ll ever get back to a balanced azir is a revert to the S7 azir. I understand that’s not goin to happen. So my only question for right is what is the plan for my main? Is there a plan? Or are you going to abandon him as an almost unplayable champion?

Neither would help him. Riot are intentionally keeping him in that state because of how he affects high elo/competitive play.

If Riot were going to make him playable for the masses while keeping him balanced in pro play, they'd have to get rid of the Shurima Shuffle and give him a new ultimate in my opinion. And I'd doubt they do that because that's something Azir players love about him (then again they got rid of Aatrox's auto focused play style but I digress).

He's in the same boat as Ryze.

They could always change the shuffle to something else. Maybe his E? Make it similar to Taliyah in you do the move then choose a direction after. Makes him a bit dangerous all over and keeps the combo, while allowing a new ult for him.
