Ping check before starting a match

I play on my laptop, and as such I find myself playing whenever and wherever I have free time and a Wi-fi connection (I know, but I don't always carry an ethernet cable with me). As a result, I don't always know what the network speed will be, and if it's even worth it to load into a game. I don't want to load into a match only to find out that my ping is going to be sitting at 150 ms or higher the whole time. I know that latency speed is time dependent and network usage dependent, but it would be nice to be able to check what it is before the match, in the client. I'd love to see a button, or even an always-on-display ping in the client as soon as I log in. Even if it's just an estimation based on the network, it would be great to have an idea of latency before loading into the rift.

Wow! That's awesome! That being said, I'd still love to see an in-application tool. I'm a one-stop-shop kind of guy. Thanks!

Practice tool does the job, even if it takes a while.

True, it's just an inconvenience I'd like to avoid. First world problems are rough.

If you go into command prompt, type this:

ping 216.52.241.254 -t

This will give you a good idea of what your ping is.
