The change to dragon goes completely against Riot's policy

Riot always says they want players to have "meaningful choices" with everything they do in game. However, the change to dragon this season goes completely against that. When dragon used to give gold you could chose what to buy with it. You could use that gold and turn it into specific stats that you need for your champ/role.

The current dragon just gives across the board general buffs that don't differ between anybody. There's now 0 choice involved with dragon.

gold= sheer power buffs= increasing your champion strenghts in specific areas so you can actualy scale better with baron than dragon

also the next choice is whether you want to contest the dragon

if both teams have one dragon each and your team wins you can simply ignore enemies taking dragon and go for towers since second buff wont give them much while you can get an inhib

meaningfull choices with dragon baron and towers dont aply to your stats, but those giving diferent advantages so their profitabilyty changes basing on situation

in s4 taking a dragon meant losing a tower and both teams were preety equal after that so there was no meaningfull choice there both teams got almoust the same gain from it

Dragon gives gold. Only to the person who kills it. But it does. There are still meaningful choices too. A lot of the time teams have to choose top tower or dragon which IS meaningful choice. Would you rather have the gold and map pressure or the buff from dragon and the long term benefits of increasing your stacks. Its still meaningful choices, but in a different way OP.

I feel like they should make it give gold again but only like... 50 gold.. serious.
